It has always annoyed me that they gave us this tiny world but didn’t allow us to have the hospital and the police station there, like, why?
It shouldn't even be too hard to do since the hospital lot already exists, just not in a visable world, would be great if they added the playable work lots in the worlds they exist in too
You can use the hidden lot cheat to redo the hospital or other go to work lots. I forgot the cheat code but Kayla just redid a hospital a few videos ago and she gave the cheat code then.
I wish they did and gave us the ability to go the police station as a civilian or the hospital as a patient...
I guess these lots are not in the same world so that the player can't change the lot type otherwise it would break the expansion pack. If they were a part of the world and no just hidden locations than you would probably be able to change the lot type
@@ValentinKC I think they could easily make a restriction for that, for example: we do have those lots in game and we are able to edit them to our liking while they also don’t let us change their venue type even with cheats.
As to why they don’t set those lots in regular worlds is probably a simple convenience matter for them. The only real reason I see for them placing them in hidden worlds would be to restrict the access in gameplay, which is a big mistake imo, why does my sims have to be either a doctor or pregnant to go to the hospital? Is ridiculous.

I think in the new high school pack we are getting freestanding clothing racks so I think it might balance out stores like this better in the future I’m excited for it

It's really too bad that mannequin's with clothes on them break downloads on the gallery. I can't believe they haven't managed to fix this in over a year.
It does suck but you can get around the glitch of it crashing when downloading the lot if you never put clothes on any mannequins.

Carpets are for your home not a store tons of people are constantly walking in and out of. There would be so much dirt in the carpet.
@@addison7624 rugs on top of carpet is super common. Most people with a carpeted house also will have at least one rug in their house too. They don’t need the rug for the warmth but it makes the floor look less boring.
I never even realized until you pointed it out! Ew, I hate that. Why would you do that? I've been to retail stores who have carpeting, and it definitely always is disgusting. I don't think they've done any carpet cleaning ever.
what if you placed it with out the manikins but made it clear where there meant to go then when we download it we put them in our self! thought you done an amazing job a fixing this place to!

If there’s any pack that desperately needs a refresh, it’s Get To Work. Not just the pack, the builds are what need help the most.

I have hearing problems and it’s been so good. Usually I have to put the volume up really high but I can’t right now because I’ll disturb other people so I’m just suffering on low volume with auto captions the past few days. It was so nice to have proper captions for this video and not have to worry about if it’s correct.

FYI: Ravasheen I think it is has mannequin glitch fix. You add it temporarily while you're downloading the lot with mannequins and take it out again afterwards.

People on PC need to know there's a workaround from an incredible modder who has revolutionised the way we play the game. My comment is for PC players. Take it up with your whoever makes your console. Kayla made a gorgeous renovation of this lot. I know a way people can use it. I'm just spreading my knowledge. Happy Simming I guess.
@@BusyBusyPanda Sounds like a you problem. Sims is not a game that's ever been meant to be played on console. It's an awful purchase. If I can run it on ultra graphics on an old budget laptop I'm sure most people can run it on PC.

This build didn't need an overhaul it needed an update and Simsie really featured that in this video, the colour scheme is fitting it almost seems like it was intended.
i feel like this pack needs an update as they added a clothing shop function but there isnt alot to choose from when it comes to clothes. they should add racks and any clothes store related things

Get to work was the first pack I ever bought and to this day I’ve still never set foot in that entire world. Not even once. I figured they were mostly just for show cause you don’t need to buy clothing… you have it all in CAS 😹😬😅

Honestly I mainly use magnolia promenade for stuff like a spa or bowling alley instead of the retail system lol
I don’t use it at all lol. I put all that stuff in Newcrest. Magnolia Promenade just feels too small for me and it makes me kinda feel uncomfortable to play in for some reason.
I’d LOVE a wedding clothing place, would you consider making different areas decorated with different themes and outfits? E.g. boho or Indian or Pride

You should try to make a family with all the occults, but you can't create the occults in CAS. ( as in they have to get their magic in the game play. )
Hey little simsie you should try to upload it without dressing the mannequins. In my game on PC if I leave the mannequins undressed I can download and put my retail lots and other saves

I will never understand how a 2004 game made a far superior retail system than the sims 4. The sims 2 was always ahead of it's time

If you still have the original, you can try removing the clothes from the mannequins.

Please I like stores but I replace them in like every save. I have some shops I use the most like a music store, a supermarket and such. They're so yuck 😭
Sims team continually taking big L's in terms of broken shit they sell for full price.
If you remove the clothes from the mannequins, then I think the lot can be uploaded and downloaded correctly. It sucks to set the outfits manually every time, but I can download lots if the mannequins don't have clothes.
@@BusyBusyPanda tried it just now with a lot I created and it works. Maybe it's because no household owns it? I play on PC. I have tried to download ones that have clothes and it will crash every time.
Mannequin glitch happens on Xbox as well. The glitch started about 1 year ago. Only work around is to upload and download with no mannequins (use place holder) then add mannequins in build mode after lot placed. Not certain if same mannequin glitch exists with room uploads and downloads - could be another work around.

I just realized, that I literally never used this store. I don't even know its possible to go shopping in theses shops. I thought that the shops are just for buying so that you can play and sell items😅
I’ve never used it either. I knew you could go and buy stuff there but I didn’t see the point. I could just get the clothes for free in CAS and it’s a lot quicker.
Recently I uploaded a retale lot to gallery with manecins and my game was fine. I could upload it and download with a crash.
I feel sorry for console players who can't place retail clothing stores down from the gallery without mods.
Console can’t download any builds from pc only other consoles 😭😭

if you’re renovating something from a get to work pack why not renovate it with only get to work items

as an in-training visual merchandiser this video was very pleasant to watch.
Also in regards to the store front windows, no you don’t need to have it blocked off. There are many types of window displays options and all of which can be effective depending on the store. For example, you have closed window which is what the build was before, open window which is what you changed it to, as well as semi-closed, corner, island, shadowbox, and elevated window displays.

Thread up is actually horrible. They've recently increased their prices of everything and their selection is garbage. Customer service was cut, so you'd have to wait over a week to get a hold of a representative.

Get to work really needs a pack refresh with *at least* a bigger world. Especially since it was the first pack and has so much potential to be better.
What EA should do with the outfits.. it should be you BUY outfits.. you buy Tops, you buy Bottoms, you buy Socks, you Buy Shoes, you buy Hats, you buy Accessories, ect.. you buy all of it.. and it is then all in your dresser to use when you go to your dresser or to your closet.. click on the top drawer, you get all your socks, click in the second drawer, you get your tops, click on the third drawer, you get bottoms.. and you can pick and choose which clothes you wear.. put that Jewelry box on the top of the dresser, click on it and pick out your Jewelry you want to wear with that outfit.. no more running in and out of CAS to change an outfit.. you BUY all your clothes and they are then added to your dressers, closets, and jewelry boxes.. so you then actually get a real purpose to have a CLOTHES STORE in the game.. so you can go buy Clothes.. including all of the clothes which normally is not accessible unless you do something, this way all the clothes are available.. and do the same with objects.. you want a couch, go to the furniture store and buy one.. want some end tables and coffee table and love seat, its at the furniture store.. want some electronics, its at the Electronic store.. go BUY IT.. and then furnish that house when you get home.. Or hire a home decorator and have them do all the work.. you pick out what you want at the store and then its delivered and set up.. want the house painted and or a new roof.. no problem.. we will send the Contractor out to paint and do the roof.. This is what EA should be doing..
You COULD put a little coffee bar upstairs, like at Nordstrom's...oh, yeah. Can't have a coffee shop/retail store together. Dang game.

I could download lots with mannequins from the gallery until i got "get to work".. since then my game always crashed if I tried it.
So I think for all those without get to work it's possible to download..but then they don't have the chlothing store gameplay..
I cannot play this pack! I tried yesterday but is giving me crashes. I tried Ravasheen fix and it work to place the lot, but then it crashed while I was buiding :( Heeeeeeelp anyone???
This build is soooo big for the number of stuff the pack is giving us. Tbh im kinda disappointed by this content, maybe u could use the dream home decorator hangers+ clothes, or some marble tables from get diner.. idk feels kinda weak for a sponsored video :/ .

You did a great job. The game has lots of glitches they have not fixed. They come out with more packs but don't fix what's wrong. I wish I could look at the thred up site without signing up but you can't.
I use the clothing stores to create unique outfits like Friends or Emily in Paris style clothes. That way I don't have to individually remake an outfit, I just have the sim buy it from the store.
Maybe remove the mannequins before putting it on the gallery? Since you showed the looks on each of them in the video, if someone wanted to copy them, all they would have to do is add them back in! *Wrong word changed out
I found that the mannequin glitch works when you dont clothe any mannequins at all. It has something to do with when you put clothes on the mannequin sadly but it does work if you never put clothes on them when you upload them to the gallery, if anyones wondering. Still be sure to playtest though just incase.
I’m a Consol player and and yes we also have the glitch. However it only seems to affect dressed mannequins and not undressed mannequins. I can download and place lots that have undressed mannequins but not if the mannequins are already dressed. It’s a total bummer because it has prevented me from downloading a lot of really beautiful clothing stores because the mannequins were dressed and it crashes the game every single time. So if you want to post this lot to the gallery, it might go better if you leave all the mannequins undressed
I can download lots with mannequins on console! I've been having a great time placing different shops. I had no idea about this glitch for PC. That is so sad!
Last time I bought clothes in person was for a funeral, because I didn't have anything appropriate to wear, because moving.
