Same in Rayleigh Essex, and online so much is out of stock for fly fishing..hardly helping bringing new blood into this wonderful sport! I get it that the cash is in Carp fishing but come on Angling Direct 😠
I tend to fly fish during the winter and in terms of tackle I buy mine online as it is more convenient and in terms of flies, you find some bargains (e.g. 50 or 60 lures for £15 or 6 gold head hares ears for 3 or 4 quid).
My daughter who is 14 and I, a very old father now live in Derbyshire. Both been thinking about taking up fly fishing and after watching this, time to make an important phone call with our local fishery. Many thanks for such a wonderful video ❤❤❤
I fly fish and I course fish and carp fish. Fly fishing is the cheapest of the lot. No where near the amount of gear is needed as is for Carp fishing and you’re not bored stiff waiting for an alarm to scream off. No skill involved in that. I’ve parked carp fishing now and only fly fish. The only thing you can do in carp fishing that you can’t in fly fishing is fish the night. Fly fishing is amazing.
*Used this rod recently on a river hike in NH. It performed beautifully **enjoyable.fishing** recommend as I had hoped it would, on a whole heap of river smallies using tiny torpedoes and tubes.*
It's all so INCREDIBLE.
56 seconds in and I'm INCREDIBLE!!!! About 12 times over!!
Incredibly, we didn't spot that! 🤣
We need people like this getting youth into fly fishing. We need a next generation to look after our lakes and rivers when we're all gone.
Really love the videos! allways wanted to try fly fishing.
Incredible.
What an achievement! Wow!
Great lake this but can be difficult at times. Has a toilet block and a cabin which are huge bonuses for any water!
I have an Angling Direct shop 10 minutes from me in Slough, and when I wandered there there was *nothing* for fly fishing!
Yup, visited 2 AD shops, very very little fly gear in there, disappointing.
Same as Warrington …..it’s all about Carp

Like most shops they stick only what sells in the area

Local tackle shop for fly fishing? Where? Certainly not at my local AD! (West Midlands). AD please note!
I have been fly fishing for years and never needed to use tapered tippet. Only really needed for dry flies
If only I had read this before ordering several packets yesterday! I guess I can keep them for the summer!
Love a bit of Euro nyphing for Grayling , im lucky to live on the river Calder ,Quality video.

Did you do it? How did you get on? I've got my young son into it and we go together, make weekends away out of it.
