I really love it when channels acknowledge their branding, especially when transitioning from one branding to the next like what CC did here, wish other channels would do stuff like this.
@@TVsFenwick So, it is really true that the Urban era was fully debuted on February 4, 2004, plus the transition bumpers were retired on February 14, 2004 (Valentine's Day)?
Our current earliest date for the launch of Urban is currently January 31 - February 4, 2004. We actually have evidence of these bumpers being used as late as 2007, but they appear to have been mostly phased out sometime in 2004.
Fun fact: Some of these bumpers are in higher quality on some of the Comedy Central DVDs. Like the Daily Show Indecision 2004 DVD set has the bumpers from 0:00, 0:39 and 1:28. and the Mind of Mencia Season 1 DVD set has the bumper from 1:08. Also, was there anything during the transition from the Scrapbook to the Comedymark era, because I know the website had a transitional logo (used during January 2011) using the 2000s building logo (in white) with the 2011 Comedymark logo (in either pink or lime) on the top right corner.
There's a promo somewhere on here for the "50 Greatest SNLs" marathon that aired from December 24-28 featuring more early glimpses of the Urban rebrand. Its rather interesting in hindsight seeing SNL paired with these graphics as they were rolling it out around the time their syndication rights for the show lapsed. (FTR, CC's last SNL episode was the 7pm airing of Sylvester Stallone/Jamiroquai on December 30.)
I have a copy of that promo on one of my tapes! I believe I'm still currently dating when the commercials are from but it's from mid-late December. Also, Comedy Central actually ran SNL as late as December 17, 2016! See ccarchive.fandom.com for more details.
@@TVsFenwick (spits out water) There’s an archive community for Comedy Central, just like Nickstory Archives?!? (It’s an archive community of Nickelodeon, BTW.)
Interesting fact: the bumper at 1:28 was the first thing broadcast by Comedy Central in 2004 as it was recorded right at 12:00am, New Year's Day.
That's quite the way to ring in the new year!

The era of cc was such a good era
I miss this era
Something about this version of the logo is so nostalgic.
Love these bumpers! It's a shame they didn't last so long with how creative they are reimagining the 2000 era bumpers.
this is such top-level motion graphics work for the time. really inspiring stuff
These bumpers were so funky and cool, but I knew that CC's "Urban" rebrand was officially debuted on Valentine Day 2004!
It wasn't, we have examples of those Urban Era elements all in use as early as February 4, 2004.

God, I remember these bumpers really well!
0:19 this ID is my favorite
0:49 sounds like music from a Boomerang bumper

I miss A period for Comedy Central Between (The 90’s - 2008)!! 😔💔
Man this is amazing! Too bad it was short lived.
in 2003-04 Comedy Central's "Metro Era" was transformed into "Urban era"
I was expecting a South Park cameo to happen, because South park is on comedy central
Nah these bumpers smack. My favorite one is the hall of mirrors one.
These go hard

I was just referring to CC's original run of SNL, before they surrendered the rights to the E! Network.
Good point, wasn't considering that!
