I have a 2017 grizzly 1860 CC it has the removable bow fishing deck. With the deck removed with me and 2 friends all avg sized guys, full tank, and gear I can get 37 MPH with the Mercury 4 stroke 90 horse. Just a little info I have to share for somebody wanting to know numbers. And that’s plenty fast IMO
Hi ! Your video and a few other helped me make my decision on getting one. I ended up getting a 2025 with the 90. I have another boat a Bayliner F16 that has a 60hp Mercury. I wanted to chime in on that difference in power that sort of made me agree with you about the top speed and it was at FIRST made me a little disappointment when I couldn't break 40mph on the lake. I didn't take it out on the water for almost 2 weeks after taking home because I spent those 2 weeks rigging it up to my liking. I'll make a video as well. So, the thing about the power difference after 3 times on the water to break it in was in my opinion your cruising speed. On my bayliner I was always WOT to get 25mph, last time out I took a buddy and his daughter and I couldn't even plane and made pass 10mph. The motor was struggling bad and I was so frustrated that I went out to Cabela's to check out the 1860 after weeks of watching other vids like yours. They had one in the showroom that wasn't listed anywhere and I was like .. " yep .. i want that one" . After doing my 2 hour break in I've come to learn this. My cruising speed is 35mph at 4500 rpm and at 5500-6000 rpm is 39mph but I feel like it still had more to give. My observation is that the motor is possibly sitting too high and will slip at top speed. I'm happy with it's overall performance but I will echo that point about what you said as far as cost vs performance difference. My only point to make about that is the 90 doesn't feel the boat at all. Planning is near instant and before you know it you're doing 30 mph and climbing. That is where that extra power shine veryyyy brightly. Coming from a CC fiberglass boat with 60 and never breaking 28mph even at WOT it is very refreshing. I'm working on a few ideas before I contact the dealer about dropping the engine down lower on the transom but over all I'm super happy with the boat so far.
Nice boat ! I'm going to look at a 2018 tomorrow. You're video was very helpful in giving me alittle better insight into the 1860 and a few things to look at tomorrow. Thanks ! John
I had a 2010 1860 with 55 horse tiller when the flooring got loose because it was riveted I pulled the thin aluminum up and found broken welds on sringers.
We have a couple JBL portable speakers that hook to the Wi Fi on the phone. Not only can you use them on the boat, they go everywhere. No cutting, drilling, wiring.
I have a 2018 I picked up used the guy before me upgraded the motor to a 90hp and a Bob's jack plate and the shallow water lower unit pickup. $$$. Point blank the boat is AWESOME runs 40 mph w/ 4- blade no matter if I got 2- people an gear or 5 guys an gear jumps up on plane an holds/handles on plane at lower rpms. ALL AROUND great boat hunting 🦆 an fishing fresh salt etc. I did upgrade an installed Hydro turf 4- sheets an had left overs. Much cooler an quieter in the HOT summer heat. Also Bimini top camo shadow grass blades of course 🦆👍an definitely led interior lights under the gunnel. Red. Low profile light bar on bow. Remote switch. Only extra I would think about doing is the rod holder bar across the stern for rod storage or trolling etc. Great video great info. 👍🦆🎣
Ps. With the 90hp. An the jack plate bob's shallow water nose cone pick up an cavitation plate. The boat will JUMP UP on plane in about 12" of wateror less floats in about 6-8" depending on gear fuel etc. But will RUN in 6" or less no prob. It will get you everywhere a mud motor will go👍
I'm looking at the Grizzly 1860 as my next boat. Love how wide it is. BUT. This is what I know about aluminum boats and salt water. If your trailer has carpeted bunks, you WILL have issues with electrolysis. The carpet will hold salt and no amount of running it through a car wash will get it out. And the issue with electrolysis is you can't see it happening, It will set up where the carpeted bunks contact the hull. It'll start out with pin hole leaks. The problem with electrolysis is it will take what should be a lifetime hull and shorten it to 10 to 20 years. The good news is all you need to do is take the carpet off the bunks. Aluminum boats don't need carpet anyway. If you fell you need something between the hull and the bunks, get some Glyde Slicks from Taco Marine.
Put a speaker on each side of console and put the amp under the console. Run Aura Opt7 LED lights under the track systems, upgrade to the 90 horse and get a 4 blade 18 or 19P Stainless prop, seadek the front and back decks, put an ATV tool box bolted to the rear deck as a driver seat and weld up a back brace for it and turn it basically into a leaning post like on any bay boat and then get a lid and back cushion upholstered for it, and then upgrade to a 36V 112lb riptide i-pilot with dakota lithium batteries powering everything on the boat to save weight. Upgrade to a new Lowrance HDS9 in the dash and then another one up front.
Change the pitch of the prop so your rpms will climb faster. If its a 13 pitch put a 12 on it it will give you qicker rpm under laod and change it out for type of use
Looking at an 18x60 open tracker but it has a 40hp merc jet pump. Would that be to under powered for 3 guys duck hunting? Thanks great video, tight lines!
If you run your equipment in salt water just spray it down with something like wd40 before you go out and when you get back wash the heck out of it and spray it again with the lubricant and you can make it last for years…
Thanks for the review. You answered some of the questions I had. I have a bigger boat (tracker pro guide 175 deep v) and I still would not go out in choppier water than you described. It's not fun and it makes your butt pucker.
Had the same boat, every weld cracked and popped loose after 9 years. While it was still under warranty once a year it would go in for replacement. It made it a few years with no problems but finally a windy day on the lake cracked two critical weld along the hull and on of the supports pushed its way through the hull causing a massive leak. I barely made it back in time. Your experiences may vary but I will NEVER buy anything motorized from Bass Pro again.
I understand that. I never had anything happen but ended up selling it and buying a bullsbay 2200 bay boat and I don’t regret the decision one bit. Hope to get a video out on it soon
Still holding up really well I actually sold it to my brother in law. Ended up going to a 22ft bay boat. Hope to get a video out soon on it. I do miss the grizzly tho
Sir my question to you would be if it will stand up in saltwater? A constant saltwater use. I am here in South florida so I will switch up between fresh and salt. Now the one I am looking at will be 2072 model. Your thought and insights would be appreciated.
I truly believe it would! I would just make sure after every use in the saltwater, you flush the engine with freshwater also wash the trailer. I do all that and pressure wash the inside and you can’t even tell mine is used in saltwater.
@@FURREVEROUTDOORS thank you sir for your response. I am glad to know I can get an honest answer for a person like me who is looking at a cheaper build, expectantly looking at an aluminum boat for saltwater. By the way my brotha you have just gotten another sub to your channel.

Looking at the same boat bit older 2008 and it has the 40 merc 4 stroke .Would it be enough power.I do local lakes and rivers and never big nasty water
Yea I think you would be fine. Normally that’s what they come with. That 40hp would run you and couple buddies high twenties to low 30s if I had to guess.
@@FURREVEROUTDOORS I have been calling around to Bass pro and they said none of them ever came with a 40 but they were not working there back in 08 which is the year of this one .Im a bit nervous it wont be enough and id be stuck .

Good video I’m really interested in buying a grizzly 2072 by summer by 2022 and good to see some input. One of things I’m worried about is I am mostly going to be in saltwater and how the trailer holds up is it galvanized? Or aluminum or how is it holding up for you in the salt water? Kelly
It’s not aluminum or galvanized but does have a coating that protects it a little. I’ve not had any issues with the trailer and saltwater. I normally wash the trailer with fresh water every time after it’s used in saltwater and seems to be just fine.
HEY BUD FIRST TIME WATCHING YOUR videos loved it i have a question how far out in salt water do you think this boat will be able to go out would you feel safe 5 miles out or in the inlet with this boat i also live in nc ,, just moved how far would you go out in the ocean ..? thanks for your time
It really depends on the day and how the ocean wants to act. A month ago I had about 2 miles offshore running out of little river inlet. Some small chop but handled it just fine.
Thanks for the video man been looking at this boat alot and im about to go to Cabelas and order the same boat. What i love the most about this boat is that it is rated for 7 passengers. I like the 60hp because its lighter then the 90. Never been on one is it quiet? Does it handle good if its choppy out? How many passengers have you had on? I love that boat its simple and lolks to be heavy duty.
I have fished 4 on it very comfortable. 7 may get pretty tight lol. Not gonna lie, I love the 60 on it. Me and another guy went a mile or so out in the ocean a few weeks ago and caught several fish. When it gets pretty choppy, this boat will allow some spray to come over the bow but it’s not terrible as long as you trim the motor right and keep the front up. Also the motor is super quiet!
Do you regret not getting the 2072 because I’m between your boat with the 90hp and the 2072 with the 150hp I just don’t think the 2072 is worth the extra $10k
Great video man about to pull the trigger on one. I fish alot of rivers that I'd have to walk the boat through in like 3-8". I'm wondering how shallow do you think she sits with the motor trimmed up?
Around 8-12 inches you can move a little with the motor trimmed. Any shallower I’d push it. But it floats real shallow especially with the pods on the back.
Hey man, awesome boat. Do you ever hunt from the boat itself? If so, how do you go about putting a blind on it with the center console? I’m looking at these for a hunting and fishing rig but worried about how the center console would interfere with a duck blind
At one time I use to hunt from the boat and had a scissor blind on it. Worked pretty well and killed several ducks. With the versa track on the boat you have several options on how you wanna make your blind. The console may stick up a little but honestly never had issues as long as it’s brushed in real good.
For the most part they are pretty close. The front and back decks are bigger on the grizzly and the grizzly has a 19 gallon built in tank where his had a removable 6 gallon tank. Handling wise and riding they both do well
@@FURREVEROUTDOORS really appreciate the feedback. I'm looking to buy a 1860 and those two boats seem to be very similar but I haven't been able to really compare them.... maybe you could get a video comparison of the two if yall had time, just a thought
I'm getting ready to order one in a few weeks. Trying to decide if the 90 is worth it. I would like to tow a tube or knee board with my family. Will the 60hp work?
I’ve been considering one of these. My only worry is I live 7000ft above sea level and I’m curious how it would handle in the lakes in my area and I like an aluminum utility boat as a family boat for a multitude of reasons. How would you rate this boat as far as a fishing/hunting boat but also a family excursion boat? I’ve been looking at tons of boats and honestly I ended up more confused that I was before even starting my search.
It’s a great family boat in my opinion! During the summer, myself, my wife and our two boys are always on it riding around, fishing, swimming and just having a great time! That’s what I love about these boats. Can be fishing boats, hunting boats and family boats all in one.
My biggest concern is high altitude lake running. I prefer the look and functionality of a utility boat but I’m wanting to make sure I can take kids tubing but at the same time get to places you can’t normally get to during hunting seasons. I don’t need a race boat so as long as I can get up to 30-40MPH and feel comfortable on the water I’m happy!
I’ve never tried tubing with the boat but I have had this boat way back in creeks and shallow waters. Not sure if altitude will change anything. I wouldn’t think so but not sure.

You could but may get a little tight at times. If your able, Mabey go with the 20/72 if your able to spend a little more.
front storage dimension ? (please)
Switch to a four blade prop. Same pitch. Engine digs better out of the hole and will get you on plane faster.

How many hours/miles a day are you getting on a tank? Solo fishing or with one buddy.
The most I ran a day was around 35-40 miles. Had a full tank when starting and burnt around 3/4 a tank. Great on gas!
@@FURREVEROUTDOORS thanks
And tight lines
Would you recommend a jack plate
Probably wouldn’t be bad. Boat floats in real shallow water so it would help out running faster in shallow water.
I think You just talked me into one,I’ve got a friend that has one with like 20 hours and just wants payoff
Jump on it brother!
Picking it up Friday.And I’m
Excited as a kid waiting on Christmas 👊🏼
Thanks for the excellent vid !!!!
If that were mine i would have a short jet engine the steering wheel system to the side for the river
You think i can haul this with a 2wd 4cylinder 2019 tacoma
Oh yea shouldn’t be problem
@@FURREVEROUTDOORS i think towing it wont be the problem, im debating if it will have enough to get the boat out of the ramp.
Still shouldn’t be a issue as long as the ramp isn’t crazy steep. My wife’s Ford Escape done it when my truck was in the shop
Roughly how much have you spent on the accessories you put on?
I may have $80 in rod holders, and the trolling motor and depth finder was probably $500 a piece.
@@FURREVEROUTDOORS Awesome, thanks for the response man. Did you build the blind or was it something like an Avery, Beavertail, etc.?
I just used angle iron for the brackets on the track system and make the blind out of conduit. Was far from perfect but it worked lol
How does the stock trailer do in salt water?
No issues yet. I try to keep it washed as good as I can after every use in saltwater.
do you have a hard time getting fuel in the tank?
No not at all.
Not sure if you will see this and maybe you have already addressed it but how is this boat compared to your buddy's Alweld boat?......
We will definitely try to do that.
I'm getting ready to order one in a few weeks. Trying to decide if the 90 is worth it. I would like to tow a tube or knee board with my family. Will the 60hp work?
A 60hp would work, but if your planning on pulling a tube or knee board I may would upgrade to a 90hp.
A 70 hp. Suzuki Would Be Great 👍
I would love one!!
I'd say let er rip tater chip drop into the Pathfinder rez and blast off.
Go ahead and upgrade to a 90hp, I'll take the 60hp and put it on my boat.
Keep all hands and FEET inside the boat.. lol.. trust me♿
Some people just learn the hard way lol
Colorado you go 33mph you're gonna get to the other side of the lake before you can take 2 sips of coffee.
About how it is around here
A shark mouth on the front and it's name on the back
