Root Beer Rag duet

- The TV Crew was checking out equipment, camera positions, lighting etc. for a future show. There was no director or regular crew. Cameras and effects switcher were manned by novices that were just goofing around. These girls were exceptional, so we are glad that the tape was rolling.
You learn so much from not-so-perfect performances. For example, I never thought how hard it would be to get the camera settings right for two people who are sitting back to back, each one looking out of the picture, and still give the impression that they are performing together and being sensitive to each other.
Sometimes it's fun to just watch one of these for fun. It doesn't have to be the "best" performance or the "best" videography to be enjoyable.
this sounds very nice
Incredible !!! Thanks!!!
This is f******* great !!! Thumbs up.
very nice.good job
@starlessons That's "Heart and soul" a famous song that's well known as a beginners piano duet. I guess it was just a joke since they're playing a duet.
@Hamsterdancefan Yes, I am aware the main song they play is Root Beer Rag, I am a big fan of Billy Joel. However at about 1:56, they briefly play another song called Heart and Soul. Unfortunately I's also not sure who they are.
haha that was incredible :D loved it
die 80er Frisuren sind geil
Obviously this should have been rehearsed, but the way it was played (sort of half guiding each other and half wondering what happens next) and the fun they were having did make me wonder?? And was that Chopsticks at 2:10?
sick
I don't think it's on spot but appreciably slower - however it was interpreted very well and I had fun listening to it and that is all that matters :)
Let's hear your version, panhandle.
It's cool, the album version had a synth in it as well I believe and it suits it well. A little ragged in places and a bit slow, but still enjoyable.
You obviously didn't take the trouble to listen right up to the end where they increase the tempo substantially. Some miserable old f****s just don't recognise talent if it's young.
This actually is an authentic ragtime tempo. Ragtime was never thought to be played as fast as it is played on the album.
After reading the comments of the uploader... I guess the best word to describe all this would be serendipity... A very nice happy accident...
Good job!
We know the time (early 80's), does anyone know what location?
You guys dont know what you are saying the tempo was spot on. listen to billy joels studio version this is the tempo. he plays it faster at concerts to make people go wild
Kann mir bitte einer sagen, woher der 'Ein-Finger-Einwurf' ab 1:58 kommt ? Das ist ein ganz bekanntes Ding, aber ich weiß nicht, wo ich das hinpacken muß...
