Coop! Your garage gym is off the chain. .I love it! I've been thinking about doing the conversion meself. This really motivates me dude..Cheers mate! :-)
Thanks for sharing man! That was a nice walk through and something to aspire to with my own. Just need to start with a taller garage. But the Yoke Y2 is definitely in the plans.
Hey Coop. Why do you put so much value on the spin of barbell sleeves.Surely all you need is for the weight to rotate independent of the part you hold. Please explain why you think a free spinning bearing adds any value. Thanks
Nice gym. I have a garage gym too, not as nice as yours but it works. My biggest challenge is space. I have a one car garage and I have had to make quite a few changes over time to set up the equipment in a way that makes the gym more efficient and functional. I am rearranging some stuff because I want to make a video and post it so others can see it but I need to learn how to make nice videos first. I don't how to do that.
I love your gym. I wish and pray to the Lord that one day you'll become a worldclass athlete. The fact that your inspiring people to better themselves.
If you like the shoulderok you should also check out Clubbell/steel club(depending on maker). The one issue I have with maces is that they are SO damn big I have to take them outside which is a pain because I workout in my basement. Clubbells kind of bridge a gap between maxes and kettlebells, being able to do similar movements to both and also some suited solely for the club. Since they are much smaller than maces they are better suited for indoor workouts but trade off some of that leverage disadvantage. They are one of my favorite implements and I would highly recommend checking them out. RMAX International carries the official Clubbell as well as some of the best instructional info out there.
Lots of stuff in a small package...very nice. You didn't mention your wall timer/clock. What brand is it and are you happy with it? I'm looking into the GymNext timer that has some cool features. Maybe you can get a free one of those to review.
Hey Darius, glad you liked the gym! That wall timer is actually the GymNext timer and I have reviewed it here: www.garagegymreviews.com/2015/11/22/gymnext-flex-timer-review/ Best timer money can buy!
wassup coop what do you think about the vulcan medicine ball? and have you tried vulcan alpha bumpers? would you recommend their bumpers because i can't make up my mind between the hi temps and vulcan alphas!!haha thanks for the dope vid.
The Vulcan Med ball is great, they're making some awesome equipment. I would suggest the alpha's over the hi-temps mainly because you can fit more on the bar.
Bro isn't it wise that one purchases the Force USA G20 machine for their garage gym? It seems to have everything in just one equipment. Any pros/cons of doing that? Eagerly awaiting to hear your expert opinion. Thanks
Love the gym. Planning to buy weight Friday. What do you recommend for basement oly lifts? Bumper plates or rubber? Also I have buddy making me fold down squat rack so I'll let you know how it turns out
I have the rogue 2.0 amazing bench. Can't imagine the collegiate is any better though it's more pricey and the the shipping will be very slow and expensive from elitefts. Elite has a great image but frankly I don't think they make better stuff when comparing apples to apples and their service and lead times and shipping can't hold a candle to rogue.
CoopTrains Hi, very cool. Quick question : I live upstairs with a wooden floor and I dont want to disturb ppl downstairs. I am 240 lbs & want to do a cardio workout(jumping jacks, skipping, standing sprints etc) in my room. What materials would you recommend I buy to do my dvd cardio workout without disturbing ppl downstairs? thx
Those 2.5-lb competition collars...don't they take a little time to undo and remove? Vs a OSO or Lock-jaw? And they're usually 2-piece. Do you know why the IWF and IPF chose this design and not just use OSO "quick release" collars?
because of the 2 clamping mechanisms. 1 clamps down on the bar and the other squeezes the plates together so no motion AND because the collars weight is factored into the lift so they need a precise weight for the collars that is also a round kilo amount
You've done a great job setting up your garage gym! One of my smarter decisions was to equip my garage so I can lift at home instead of paying gym memberships. Wondering...have you ever hit your head on the ceiling doing muscle-ups? Lol
That's a good question. The longer the spin will typically indicate that it has a more smooth spin. This is important for the clean and jerk and snatch where the shaft of the barbell should spin independently of the sleeves allowing for an easy turnover and no damage done to the wrists.
I'm in the market for an adjustable bench. I'm sorry I can't understand what you said the bench was. Rep fitness? Only have limited space so I want to get it right first time around. Thanks!
+CoopTrains thanks for the response! Yes I looked them up. And I think I'm gonna be getting a rack and bench from them. I can't wait for your review. I'm skeptical about the way the bench triangles out. We have one at work and it sucks on incline cause I'm short. But ours flares out much much more than the rep fitness adjustable bench.
Hey Eric, I've finished the review. You can find the video and written portion here: www.garagegymreviews.com/2016/08/04/rep-fitness-adjustable-flat-bench-review/
I'm curious what training you have? I ask because your erg form and your quasi clean n push jerk need help. Not being a youtube troll, but as a Coach I'm just hoping you know the points of performance we drill rep after rep...If you're a novice, cool. If you're a Coach, drill the basics mate. Cheers.
Make sure you're deep in the catch position on the erg with a solid upright and neutral position! and then a hard drive out - and the handle always beats the kees back to the catch mate! I also tell my athletes it simulates a horizontal clean and then people seem to catch on. I feel like the comment above came off kinda troll'ish -- not my intent.
Im considering getting the Y1 stand after watching youre video. However Im 6 ft tall. Could I squat out of this rack ok? The Y2 is taller but would be more difficult to get in and out of the garage for sun out guns out training. Thanks!
Yes you can. You simply raise the bar to the top of the stand where the bottom holes of the bar are at the top. I have a couple guys around 6'2" that train with me and squat out of it no problem.
If you're going to be doing anything besides the big 3 (squat, dead, and bench) I would go with the Chan bar. I have a guide for the best bars in 2016 that you can find here that should help: www.garagegymreviews.com/2016/04/26/2016-barbell-guide/
I tried pegboard and it felt like it ripped my bicep muscle. What specific training is good for this? I can do pull ups like crazy but this has been a problem spot trying to hold my weight up with one arm.
The pegboard is great for building all the muscles a pullup does, but in a more aggressive manner. You're essentially doing assisted one arm pullups using the pegboard. I would start with negatives and build from there.
MrNormallan crossfit is not wrong about the training methods they have, the main problem is the programming they use and the people who have really bad form that make them look bad
Nikos Zaharis yes you must be the same nationality... In Order To Have A Picture of something... He Likes Lifting And Dimas great lifter... real hard to put two and together If You're Into Basketball and white only have pics of white NBA players... stupid post of the year
Nice garage. Find it a little funny though he calls it "training" though. "Training" generally implies you're prepping for a sport or competition of some kind. Are you? If not then it's just called working out.
I have goals that I'm training to achieve. You can call it whatever you'd like, I just prefer to call it training because I'm doing it for a specific purpose.
doseofreality100 Working out is running on the treadmill 4 days a week just to lose weight. Working out is benching every Monday and just lifting what "feels heavy". Training is doing a methodical approach to lifting or running, etc. 5/3/1, Starting Strength, Texas Method, etc. You dont "workout" and squat 405 in 3 years just by chance. You train using a proven system to reach your goals.
Dude just buy a cap trap bar off amazon and cheap weights off Craigslist. That's all you'll need. Just squat with it, do heavy carries, deadlifts, overhead presses
Coop! Your garage gym is off the chain. .I love it! I've been thinking about doing the conversion meself. This really motivates me dude..Cheers mate! :-)
Thanks for the kind words brother! Once you make the switch, you won't go back!
Coop really came up since this 😂 Solid gym, but we all know what his gym looks like now!
Yep way more than he needs
This is the real COOP with a real garage gym , love the natural production and commentary on this vid.
I recall watching your video in 2016. I took so much from this video and now have my own home gym in 2018. Thanks for video!
Awesome, love hearing I've helped people!
Wow how times have changed
I heard that couples that lift together stay together. Don't lose that quality time you guys share.
Good point!
This is my dream. I want to move into a house with a garage or barn to do this.
That's a great dream! Get out there and make it happen!
Thanks for sharing man! That was a nice walk through and something to aspire to with my own. Just need to start with a taller garage. But the Yoke Y2 is definitely in the plans.
Thanks for the kind words! It's been built up pretty slowly over time. I think I need a bigger garage too though haha
Bro the hole in the attic idea is genius!
Thank you!
Love it man!
Thanks brother!
When you get a change do a review on the yoke and the echo GHD. Awesome vids man!
Thanks brother, I will once I get my new garage gym up!
Rep Fitness makes a great FID
Enjoyed the garage gym tour, I stay up on your posts and enjoy the reviews
I'll have to do my own garage gym review
Thanks for the kind words, I'll be on the lookout for your video!
The music is so distracting. I paused the video a few times to see if my fan was squeaking. Thanks for the reviews and stuff! Just subbed.
You should go on American Ninja Warior! :D
Awesome set though !
That would be cool, those guys are beast! Also, glad you like the gym!
Hey Coop. Why do you put so much value on the spin of barbell sleeves.Surely all you need is for the weight to rotate independent of the part you hold. Please explain why you think a free spinning bearing adds any value. Thanks

I love the Set up man, working on improving mine as well, thanks for the great Ideas
Thank you!
Really good info Coop. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice gym! Gave me some good ideas for my gym build, thank you.
Happy to hear it!
I love your gym. I wish and pray to the Lord that one day you'll become a worldclass athlete. The fact that your inspiring people to better themselves.

Great video.
Man your gym now vs then is naynays
Awesome i love that picture frame, some the greats. Where did you get that?
Printed them myself!
Lots of stuff in a small package...very nice. You didn't mention your wall timer/clock. What brand is it and are you happy with it? I'm looking into the GymNext timer that has some cool features. Maybe you can get a free one of those to review.
Hey Darius, glad you liked the gym! That wall timer is actually the GymNext timer and I have reviewed it here: www.garagegymreviews.com/2015/11/22/gymnext-flex-timer-review/
Best timer money can buy!
Awesome - thanks Coop.
Great looking garage gym; thumbs-up!
Thank You!
wassup coop what do you think about the vulcan medicine ball? and have you tried vulcan alpha bumpers? would you recommend their bumpers because i can't make up my mind between the hi temps and vulcan alphas!!haha thanks for the dope vid.

Great garage gym! Thank you for the Air Dyne Pro review which is used daily! Any recommendation on a treadmill?
Thanks frank! I actually don't have a treadmill recommendation yet as it's an area I'm just now starting to explore.
Awaiting your selection and review! Thanks, Coop
Hey man
What is the flooring you use?
Stall mats from Tractor Supply.
nice gym I also have my own gym but I have pull down legpress and leg extension machines nice set up
Thank you!
Bro isn't it wise that one purchases the Force USA G20 machine for their garage gym? It seems to have everything in just one equipment. Any pros/cons of doing that? Eagerly awaiting to hear your expert opinion. Thanks
Awesome gym!
Thank you!
Love the gym. Planning to buy weight Friday. What do you recommend for basement oly lifts? Bumper plates or rubber? Also I have buddy making me fold down squat rack so I'll let you know how it turns out
I would highly suggest getting bumper plates. I'd love to see the squat rack when it's ready!
Thanks for the response. My phone delayed the message. My platform is built with 480lbs of bumpers ready to be used.
Dude great garage gym!! Can you tell me how much Rogue power rack of yours weigh?
Thanks man! The R3 weighs about 200 lbs.
Can you get your hands on an EliteFTS collegiate adjustable bench and compare it to the Rogue's? Nowhere can i really find anything that compares them
I have the rogue 2.0 amazing bench. Can't imagine the collegiate is any better though it's more pricey and the the shipping will be very slow and expensive from elitefts. Elite has a great image but frankly I don't think they make better stuff when comparing apples to apples and their service and lead times and shipping can't hold a candle to rogue.

Great question. I would look into the Go Mat that you can get from Rogue: www.roguefitness.com/gomat
sick gym bro!! 👍
Thanks brother!
Nice vid earned the sub
Good to hear!
congrats!!

Nice.. I like your dip station. Do u know the width of the bars?? Thanks.
I'm not sure, but it's made by Body Solid and can be found on Amazon.
Is the body solid more stable than the rogue attachable dip bars?
I find the the rogue have perfect width etc but with heavy weight there is some shaking from the play that is inherent in the design.
Hey Coop, do you have any experience with the Body Solid Rubber Hex dumbbells? Are they compatible to Rogue and York?
I have some rubber hex from body solid, rogue and gronk fitness... All exactly the same other than the label.
sweet gym! I need one of those extra gun-rack!
Thank you, and I'm actually planning to do a giveaway so that may just happen!
+CoopTrains if you do I might join in throw in a tub of Xtend to go with the giveaway if you're cool with that!
if you dont mind me asking....... what was the name of the third bench? the adjustable incline and decline one ? thanks in advance!
It is the Rep Fitness FID Bench. You can find my full review here: www.garagegymreviews.com/2016/08/04/rep-fitness-adjustable-flat-bench-review/
Great home gym
Thanks!
You've done a great job setting up your garage gym! One of my smarter decisions was to equip my garage so I can lift at home instead of paying gym memberships. Wondering...have you ever hit your head on the ceiling doing muscle-ups? Lol
If I kip the muscle-ups there is a chance. But I mostly just do them strict and there's been no problems there thankfully haha.
9:34 - Genuine question... Why does is matter that the barbell spins longer ?
That's a good question. The longer the spin will typically indicate that it has a more smooth spin. This is important for the clean and jerk and snatch where the shaft of the barbell should spin independently of the sleeves allowing for an easy turnover and no damage done to the wrists.
Damn that gym must have cost a fortune looks great im just starting my own gym equipment. Starting out with some bars and plates.
You have to start somewhere! Enjoy!
What sort of matting do you have for the oly lifts you were doing in the driveway? Thanks
It is horse stall matting that can be purchased from a store like Tractor Supply.
Cool thanks!
If you were going to buy one economical rack to bench and squat what would you buy?
Just for squat and bench, and price wasn't much of an issue, I'd buy the Rogue R3.
I'm in the market for an adjustable bench. I'm sorry I can't understand what you said the bench was. Rep fitness? Only have limited space so I want to get it right first time around. Thanks!
Yeah, it's a Rep Fitness bench and it's definitely worth it. I have a full review coming soon.
+CoopTrains thanks for the response! Yes I looked them up. And I think I'm gonna be getting a rack and bench from them. I can't wait for your review. +CoopTrains awesome! Thank you! Can't wait to see it. I think that's the one for me.
I been looking for a gym style Red LED digital clock like the one you have. Any info on where to find one?
Yeah, it's the best one I've found and I reviewed it here: www.garagegymreviews.com/2015/11/22/gymnext-flex-timer-review/
CoopTrains Thanks!

Awesome. I was leaning more towards the Chan bar. My low ceiling don't allow for anything overhead.
Cool Video
Thank you!
why do you have like 6 olympic bars
More Barbells = More Gainz
Where did you get the spinning pull bar?
The bar is from Ethikon Fitness. You can purchase it here: ethikonfitness.com/store/
so by your logic, my pendlay bushing bar is the best weightlifting bar because it spins twice as long as your eu bar??
No, there are so many factors that go into something being the best and are often detailed on my site.
what was the brand of the adjustable bench? rec fitness?
Rep Fitness
You have great form on clean and press.
Thanks James!
Is that a joke?
I tried pegboard and it felt like it ripped my bicep muscle. What specific training is good for this? I can do pull ups like crazy but this has been a problem spot trying to hold my weight up with one arm.
The pegboard is great for building all the muscles a pullup does, but in a more aggressive manner. You're essentially doing assisted one arm pullups using the pegboard. I would start with negatives and build from there.
How much would you sell one of those bars for? If where to sell one
Probably a cool $1M
Pegboard is hard as shit
Yes, it is!
Where did you get your floor pads??
Tractor supply, $40 a pop!
Do you have your power rack mounted down?
Yep, it's bolted to the concrete.
CoopTrains How did you manage to do that? Did you have to drill through the concrete?
Yeah. I used a hammer drill into the concrete.
+CoopTrains I see. Thanks!
Awesome gym man! Just posted a garage gym video of my set up as well!
Nice, I'll check it out!
How much $ do you have in your garage gym. It's awesome.
No idea how much. However, it's much less than you would assume because most was either bought on Craigslist or given to review.
You need a 29mm PL bar
I have many
Please dont do crossfit, stick to squat, bench, deadlift, overhead standing press, barbell row, get big and strong without the crosshit
MrNormallan Nothing is wrong with crossfit
MrNormallan crossfit is not wrong about the training methods they have, the main problem is the programming they use and the people who have really bad form that make them look bad
Tried clicking the link to the bike review, got sent to an article on how to build a pegboard.
Hmm, that's no good. Here's the link: www.garagegymreviews.com/get-rxd-xebex-air-bike-review/
What clock do you have above your door?
That is the Gym Flex Timer. I did a review of it here: www.garagegymreviews.com/2015/11/22/gymnext-flex-timer-review/
Thank you!
On the barbell rack what type of bar is the big bottom one that you have? The hexagon shaped one?
That is the Rogue TB-2 Trap Bar. Great bar, although I would probably just get the TB-1.
Tony it's a shrug bar
awesome
Who else is here that doesn't even desire to start a garage gym?
what do you for a living that allows you to afford all this stuff?
Seems like a very expensive gym. Very nice and extremely versatile equipment nonetheless
It's not for show, that's for sure! Glad you like it!
I'll buy one of those barbell racks off you for the right price.
Sorry man, already gave one away and the other one will be used soon!
All these bars and no gains
Ooooh kill em!
shame how could you do that? coop trains do what your doing haters will hate....mongoo how much you lift bro
Thanks brother!
This guy has a negative comment on every lifting video
I'm sure hes quite the specimen
why do you have a poster of pyros dimas on your wall? i mean are you greek or something?
Cos he's one of the greatest Oly lifters ever!
No, he's just an awesome lifter.
Nikos Zaharis yes you must be the same nationality... In Order To Have A Picture of something... He Likes Lifting And Dimas great lifter... real hard to put two and together

Well said Jeff!
come on man! you are wasting money if you dont take advantage of that amazing garage
Your home gym is ridiculous lol. You've got so much eqpt. Looks like you're more into collecting eqpt than just lifting.
Reviewing equipment on my site is one of my jobs!
+Coop: Well that explains it then. I'd love to have even 1/10th of your collection.
4 of your hero's on the wall of fame have all taken PED's :(
That's a difficult thing to say considering they haven't all tested positive.
lol
Вообщем до тренажерного зала лень дойти
And im struggling to afford my monthly gym membership..
Dude just buy a cap trap bar off amazon and cheap weights off Craigslist. That's all you'll need. Just squat with it, do heavy carries, deadlifts, overhead presses
What What?
Check 'My home gym" chanel, and tell if you still think that your gym is the world best gym
You've got a great looking gym my friend!
Coop is a garage weisel that ruins any video. Get a real job bro
Amazing Garage Gym! Very good!
Thank you!
