It's just a gain knob. You'd need to have the regular compressor with upward selected to get true upward compression. The gain knob will make *everything* louder, while upward compression would make only sounds below the threshold louder. :)
This is pure production gold! I can't believe you're putting stuff like this out on youtube! That Reverb pro's workflow looks far superior to the stock reverb too. That auto wah really nails the sound. Ive always thought that you were using an exp pedal or something controlled to get that. Sounds awesome! Thank you for all of this!
Hey brother, thanks for sharing these tips! I know this is old, but still applicable. I wanted to add that sometimes adding a 2nd Cab device with different settings (maybe another 2x12, maybe a 1x12, etc..) And rolling off some of the Dry/Wet can achieve a variety of different stock guitar tones as well! Have fun everyone. :)
Hey man thanks for the tips ! I was wondering what are the benefits of having a compressor before hitting the interface as opposed to slapping a comp on the track.
gogo chi hey thanks for watching. While a comp isn’t 100% necessary before the interface, it would allow you to have better gain structure/ dynamic range control before hitting your interface and cpu.
@@cloudchordmusic Fair enough ! will have to get a comp pedals one of these days. Just bought a Push 2 so it will have to wait aha. Thanks for the answer ;) Ps ; check out Cory Wong's plug in for clean tones it's really solid !

The sucking is the funnest part tho!! In Parallel...usin a docderr for tracking & it does the analog parallel distressor vibe
Slam it, ELI style, for like quack tones/funk - just my preference anyway, but I dig your approach
:)

ty man my guitars have more sense now
Buy S-Gear and call it a day, best amp guitar sim hands down. No affiliation, just a happy customer.
Try out the new Cory Wong plug in for clean tones it's really damn good. I think it's a bit better than S-gear
Agree!!
What's an affordable, yet quality interface that you'd recommend?
Austin Fitch try the focusrite Scarlett interfaces. There are a few versions for under 200 USD.
CLOUDCHORD you the man.
CLOUDCHORD what are your thoughts on UAD? Thx
thanks for this. I have been going in circles trying to get a decent guitar sound.
Andrew Renner my pleasure. It’s one of the things I’m asked about the most!
how do you avoid latency when recording, do you monitor through a uad sim and add the plug in after?
128 buffer size monitoring track in auto input in ableton
Thank you!
looks like the short url isn't working or?
