WIthout a doubt, this is a very useful machine, if you have to strip many wires and i really like how it works. But why do you use an stepper an an microcontroller jut to turn one axis. A simple gearmotor would do the job without programming ans overcomplicated electronics. Oh, wait, i understand. this would be less than half as fancy as using an arduino in this project.
The best way to get alignment with your bearing plates is to double back tape them together and then drill also use the bearing as a guide for the drill
Great work. I might make one that goes onto a drill, and put the cable guide (yellow part) on the rotating part.

Yikes, I wouldn’t let my wires anywhere near this machine, the results are terrible.
