As a French, it’s kinda true. I see the US as France’s son we legally lost custody of against his father UK who we violently broke up with and divorced a long time ago and swore to ourselves to make everything possible to ruin the other. 😂😂 The US became UK’s rebellious and ambitious 18 year-old son who wanted to leave his familial home and live his dreams, unlike Canada who remained a bit longer in the household, and France saw an opportunity to revenge. Meh. Russia is one of American first friends. They were till USSR. And even then US was much more friendly to soviets than Britain for example. With time USSR and USA became made their relationships good. Then Russia started to improve their relationships even further. And then Pitin decided that it's time to make Russia great, independent and imperial again. That's when Russia became American enemies. I wouldn't say these two countries are old enemies.

At first Russia wanted to join NATO, but they made it clear that we are not welcome there, we would join NATO only with heavy losses in territory. So Putin decided that Russia doesn't need this "friendship" with the West.

Even though technically we came from Britain I would say the fatherland actually fathered us... More stuff in the United States has roots to Germanic culture then it does the British culture.
Remember all those farm hands and lesser laborers were all Irish and Scottish. The actual land and cattle owners in the early United States were German, All the people that owned the companies either were straight up German or they still retained their German last name.
A lot of old historic towns on East Coast United States and Midwest United States were originally settled by German/dutch people not Irish or Scotts.

It’s hypocritical really. Last year the US military on the president’s orders (“allegedly”, but many people know) they destroyed the NorthStream 1 pipeline so we Europeans have to rely and buy more energy from the US with no choice.
