Interesting overhaul. I inherited a 463 from a tailor in my area. Unfortunately the machine spent a day out in the rain before I got it. He also gave me the table, and motor. My machine has a phenolic gear rather than the plastic. Maybe an older version. Curiously the oil pan was missing altogether. Probably it was being manually oiled for a while. My oil hoses are hard and will need replacing. I also have a newer Consew zig zag. Consew's are all journal bearings whereas the Pfaff is all ball and needle. Germans love their ball bearings.
Great! These are nice machines. Being out in the rain for a day didn't harm the machine at all. I believe the phenolic gear was an original like you suggested, if there is nothing wrong with it great, just keep grease on and don't forget to oil the linkage next to it also the ball bearing every day of use. Now as far as the motor I can't say. No doubt it's a clutch type motor, I don't know if it got wet inside or not, best thing to do is to watch this video by Alexander Dyer ua-cam.com/video/oQ0W90XfP6Y/v-deo.html A zig zag machine is my next adventure. My heaviest duty machine I have is the Yamata 5318. Can't think of anything I will sew where I'll need anything heavier. Now, Things you need to do. First download this manual: www.dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/PFAFFSERVICE/463%20463H(3-86.pdf Since there is not a gearbox cover you already know the condition of the shuttle hook gear. Then take the feed dogs off and remove the feed dog bar by removing the eccentric cams, reference to page 3 and 4 in the service manual. The reason you must inspect the needle bearings to see if these are impacted with thread and lint. Clean if necessary and repack with a silicon grease like Super Lube Next take off the front cover and see if there are sponge like material in those two cups on the needle bar guide, if so great. And being you got it from a tailor, this as far as you need to go. You're right with the Germans and their ball bearings, but these machines will never wear out. As far as you replacing all the old tubing, you can get that tubing at any hardware store. As far as the wicks are concerned, if these still carry oil they are fine. You also don't need to remove the upper shaft to replace the tubing that goes to the pickup arm bearing. Just disconnect the oil tube from the reservoir remove the bracket holding the oil tube and then you will be able to remove the pickup arm bearing shaft by loosing the set screw located at the top of the machine. That whole oil tube assembly will come out the front of the machine. With the industrial abuse my machine suffered there was no wear what so ever on any part of this machine. So yours should still be like new as far as the wear on any of the parts are concern. It also sounds like you know your way around sewing machines and I'll be glad to try to answer any question you may have this machine.
I just got a 463 in need of some work, and am using your guide! Thank you for putting it together. I know its a lot of work to put a video together on top of all the work required to do the repairs. One question I have is where to find that kind of wick, or would a cotton one work? Google isn't helping when I Google "1/8 wool felt wick"... thanks!
whats that set screw next to the needle plate @ 47:49 ? sorry i warned you there was gonna be alot of questions haha i stay watching these videos studying them ever since i bought a pfaff 463 haha
That set screw is for the rotary hook assembly, you loosen that one and the set screw for the bobbin case opener eccentric cam on the bottom of the machine to adjust the needle distance to the rotary hook

What oil do you recommend for the reservoir
@@caligrindin9492 Any sewing machine mineral oil should be fine. A Pfaff dealer might suggest a special oil tho.

O reservatório está quebrado? Use JB Weld para reparar. Use álcool para limpar a peça quebrada.
Epoxi, super, kwik, plastic weld??
Any two part epoxy will work. just be sure there is no oil residue on the piece
