I can relate to this! Skipped a grade and still scored the highest on most tests... People bullied me.. And I just hid it...
Later on at like 8th grade, I didnt hide it anymore, people are just angry and jealious that they didn't get to have that...
Also for me It's not the string thoery! It's litterly every single thoery lol 😂 ...
Also once this one girl was like: "How old are you? You look shorter and younger..." And then I was like: "Because I am younger..." And then she said stop showing off and kept telling everyone that I was a know-it-all!
Cause apparently knowing something that's not supposed to be for your age is illegal? Well then I'm a criminal! But blame it on my mom, she's the one who found my talent and started giving me like multiply equations while all my class still learned 2+1... 😅 (true story)
Because then one day we had a cover teacher, and we played trivia, I loved trivia, It's just fun knowing fun facts! 😅
And then cause I was answering most of them she was like: "Here we go again.. Ms.Know-it-all is showing off!" And the teacher told her to stop, but then she kept saying mean things... And she was sent to detention! She dropped out that year...
But funny enough, peopel still cheat from Me! I thought you hated a know-it-all? Know you want to be one or want one beside you? Once two kids were fighting cause they wanted to sit beside me in math during an exam... and I was like: "If you think I'm smart, then what makes you think that I don't know what's happening, or that I won't just write wrong answers for you to copy?" Also I loved writing wrong anwsers so they could copy lol 😅
Then no one dared to say things to me again, cause I had.. my own way, you can say, of treating bullies 😈
(Also I told them they are auto breathing, and how annoying it is go back to auto after they realise it... I know.. too harsh 😔, but that's just for the people who look at me weirdly... double points if they do it after I answered a question!
Also... I have other things for real bullies... and let's just say, I have a bad record... 😈 )

Eric seemed to be trying to have it both ways when he claimed that if Debbie were dumb, he was the smart one and if she were smarter than him, she would come off as a "know-it-all". I definitely suspect sexism on Eric's part when he tried to take credit for a project that Debbie did the majority of.

She wasn't actually bullied for being smart though. It was the attitude she had that made people make fun of her and push her away. The jumping in to answer all the time, the desire to change games, and the dismissal of other people's ideas because she didn't value them made people not want to be around/nice to her. Her way of interpreting it and her father instantly jumping to hiding her score and saying people can't handle intelligence caused her a lot of pain that probably could have been avoided if someone sat down and helped her understand things better.
Well she was just sharing her opinion tbh and people didn't like her opinion witch made people hate her and probably she just wanted to tell the teacher that she knew the answer,I mean if you knew the answer all the time ,u wouldn't not participate and just sit there ,that makes your teacher think your not participating
@i_suck_ You can participate without being an inconsiderate brat and sometimes your opinion shouldn't be shared, especially if you can't be nice about it. If you're smart and have a crappy personality I can guarantee it's the latter that makes people not like you. Someone who's truly smart would know that and work on being a better person.

when someone is smart they treat them bad, if someone is dumb they treat them bad too, what is happening on this world-
There was a 10 year jump (in elementary school, she was bullied for being smart and in college she was ridiculed since people thought she was dumb).
When Eric in particular tried to convince Debbie to let him present it, his double standard (of why she shouldn't present regardless of whether she's smart or dumb) is an excuse for him to take all the credit for their shared credit. At best, Eric is an opportunist, at worst, he is a sexist who thinks Debbie shouldn't get credit because she's a woman.

Whenever someone act like a nerd or somebody wears glasses why does eveyone think there smart?
It's a stereotype without strong factual basis. For whatever reason society decided that if someone wears glasses must mean they are smart.
I relate to this because I was always,bullied in school because I was too smart which caused me to skip a grade, and that is when I lied and said I was the same age as everyone and in the same age as everyone else which caused me to get bullied alot and made me act less intelligent then the other kids in my class. Now that I am older, I realized that I really don't need to hide my intelligence, instead I should except that I'm smart and just move on.
and the moral of the story here kids: Don't be afraid to show who you really are
