How To Install A Simplex Lock

- Today, Brandon goes over how locksmiths and access control technicians install a Simplex Lock, in particular the Simplex L1000.
The Kaba Simplex produces a type of mechanical access control lock designed to open with mechanical button PIN combinations that can be customized. This is technically a type of mechanical access control lock, and therefore is a bit more difficult to install and program than a standard lever set.
Kaba produces these Simplex locks, which work great on both standard commercial spaces and outdoor buildings, such as sheds and barns, to lock for people not intended to have access to that location.

What if you need the door handle facing the other way?
lodydody everybody Good Question....simplex’s come handed, meaning that you can either get it in left handed or right handed.
@@GuardianSafeAndLock I wanted to take the handle off and swap it the other direction.

@@sNoLove-zl2vb the handles are hand specific at kaba, if you want be able to field change the hand get the knob version, easy to reverse the orientation

I followed your video step by step but I wasn’t able to make the code work...after I did what you showed to do the lever opens the door without code...why doesn’t it work?
@@rocioramirez2085 sounds like you may have it in passage mode, trying googling the programming instructions and taking it out of passage mode.

Anyone know if you can engage the deadbolt using the keypad?

How do you install the cylinder when the keypad came separately.?
We have one of these things on a feed room door in our barn...close to 30 years old. We're trying to remove it. No key.
Is it possible to un-install these without the key? If so, how? Thanks!
You have to have the universal key to put it together
