Nice tying George. Yep water levels are high all over the country. I drove from east to west yesterday and many rivers are in the fields.

Your son has some great talent on that "Strat"
I love the simplicity of the pattern and I am going to twist a few up; Probably use a dark dun hackle [as I am out of my olive griz.]
I'm blown away with the idea of coloring the thread for a ribbing; I watch a lot of videos but have never seen that idea for ribbing; awesome

great looking fly hopefully the trout will love them lol , you tube very strict when comes tom playing popular music . i do be watching live streams and even if there's a tv playing in the background with music for 20-30 sec the lads get copyright strikes, so good luck with that. but he very good on the guitar

What was the feather that you used for the hackle? Is there anything else that would work well?

It requires a genetic hackle to get the best effect, in this case a grizzle dyed olive..
