Whenever I'm back checking or the other player is just skating and my players are too close for a big hit I can't seem to push/bump the player off the puck. I can totally see where you’re coming from. Some players seem to be very good at avoiding checks and bumps. I think that mostly comes down to their positioning and puck protection in that sense. Personally I try to angle players or get a better angle to try and poke, but if you can get on their side that also helps to bump them off the puck, you just have to be right beside them. Getting angles in the middle of the ice or on the boards is my most successful approach. Hope that helps!
I really appreciate EA for adding new dekes into the game and not offering any way to figure out how to do them lol how do they not at least add them to the deke training lol

I want to setup a weekly video schedule so everyone knows what's happening. Hopefully I can have something like that up in the next couple of days. :)
It’s all about timing. I would start with someone like Lemieux/Gretz in practice and work out the speed. If you are getting it a little it could be that you need to keep your stick rotation a little more consistent towards the end. It should all be the same speed.
It's not a deke or a move. It's a contextual shot that happens if you are in the right place at the right time and the conditions are met. i.e. you have a player with X deking/offensive awareness and are in this position.

Yooooo....mad props on pulling off the Michigan. I've seen many tutorials where they tell you how to do it, and show themselves trying it over and over again but they NEVER get it, and end up using the games video Trailer to show it being done successfully.....Kudos👍👍👍
Thanks! It took a little bit to get it, but it's not THAT hard to it. It is hard to be consistent to pull it off though. Also helps I used Super Mario.

I'm trying these dekes on NHL 21 using NHL 94 controls. Most work fine; but when I try the Michigan, or a few other dekes that call for holding or pushing the L1 button, the player just pulls the puck between his legs; and the right stick can click, but won't rotate. It is so frustrating.

This deke is beyond frustrating...My player absolutely cannot keep the puck on his stick at the end. What makes it worse is that he somehow can only do it in open ice but never by the net.
Finally a new nhl game, where they actually added a bunch of new stuff. Most of the time, EA sells the same game every year. Just bought this today, and I’m excited to play it
You need to hold your RS to your players forehand before you click the RS. So hold to your forehand with the RS, click and hold L1/LB and then click the RS and hold.
Kinda wish they had the svechnikov style for lefties and the Forsberg style for righties. Although the forseberg seems easier to pull of because its more speedy
@@YewyBearGaming Look up the way forseberg did the lacrosse goal it's different then the way svechnikov did it but on 21 if your righty it mirrors what svechnikov did

I can't say I know of the challenge, but to do the slid on the boards you just have to skate up the boards and while skating with your left stick, hit L1 (PS4) or LB (XBOX).
Very odd. What combination of buttons are you doing? Are you holding the LS or RS at all? When I do it, I let go of every button and coast behind the net, then hold L1/LB and click R2/RT. If you get it and get more comfortable, it's a quick "let go of every button" and do the combination.
So I've had it sometimes not do it either. I usually skate towards the back of the net and when you get there let go of your LS completely, then hold L1/LB and click the R2/RT.
So there are a few potential reasons it could be falling off. 1) you don’t have high enough deke rating (if your deke rating is low, you need to be more exact on timing). 2) you don’t have the correct timing. 3) if you’re skating it also effects timing. For me to have some success. I just stood still in the middle of the ice and practiced it a lot until I got the timing down. It’s fairly quick, but not too fast. When you rotate clockwise/counterclockwise you have to have a consistent stick movement. If at any point you slow down or speed up you will drop the puck. Hopefully that helps!
@@davidrush1199 Do you know how to strafe deke? That's the big key. You just hold LB and use your left stick left or right. Do not hit the RS until you start the move and need to, that could also be the issue.
For the Michigan? That’s definitely hard to explain. You can maybe get it out of the video, but the RS rotation is maybe like a half second. If you go to fast or slow you’ll lose the puck, but you have to keep it consistent the whole way through. I’d also suggest doing practice mode with either Gretz (Left) or Lemieux (Right).
Good video! I might be one of few who liked the deke combos when they were on ABXY. I feel that there is too many things programmed for just LB RB that it can screw up with other moves

Not stupid at all. You need to move your right stick out first. Then click L1/LB, then click the RS.

There is a deke not shown I'm trying to figure out. It's like the net bank, but you tap it back between your skates anywhere on the ice.
The skate kick deke is great against people who poke a lot. They can get called many times for a penalty. I use it quite a bit.

How do you do the behind the net bank spin , every time I try it just makes me bank it off the boards.
I let go of everything else, hold L1/LB and then click R2/RT when you're in the middle of the net.

It’s the same. Unfortunately it takes your controller input into account. I do it sometimes as well.

I keep trying to do the Zorro/Michigan/svech but the puck just falls off the stick when he tries to do the move. Is it because my timing is wrong?

As soon as you strafe deke, let go of L1/LB and flick your right stick. If you continue to hold L1/LB you’ll do a windmill.
