Paano Po Kung Yung instant nailagay sa warm milk okey pa din Po ba Ang dough?
How to know if the yeast is the active or dry kind. I didn't see the label. Thank you very much ..
Much better you explain while you were doing the dough rather not to talk..it’s much helpful..
Hello I don’t have evaporated milk what do I use instead of that? Please reply
This video was a big help for a "struggling baker" like me. Thank you very much for taking time out to explain the similarities and differences of the two yeasts in the most comprehensible manner. It is much appreciated. Somehow, baking helps me keep my sanity intact this difficult times. God bless and keep up the good work!🙏❤️
Happy to help, always remember that there is always hope and tomorrow will always be better than today. God bless you and hang in there, focus on baking and continue to learn new skills. :) You got this.
We are facing a problem in pizza dough blend, sometimes it get best taste in the world and sometimes it get tasteless. But our blend Supplier is saying that he is using same standards @@RichandFreb
Can you help us 😢
Thank you for explaining this in a simple way, I just bought instant yeast by accident and wasn't sure how to use it, now I'm looking forward to using it
Magandang araw po! Glad to help and God bless!
@@RichandFreb hello po sir, kindly do a sioapo recipe using instant yeast po
Thank you so much for posting this! Usually, I use active dry yeast when I bake bread but today I decided to use instant dry yeast. I never used instant dry yeast before. I put the instant dry yeast directly to the dry ingredients and mix and knead the dough. Then I put it in a bowl to make it rise and I set the timer to 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, I checked the dough and it’s still the same size. It didn’t rise. That’s the reason I looked up how to use instant dry yeast and I saw this video. I live in Alaska and the temperature is going down as winter gets closer. Now I know what to do. I need to wait for a little longer because it’s cold inside our house. Thank you again!
Magandang araw po! It is always difficult to find a warm place even in our kitchen during winter time. I would suggest try putting it inside the oven, maybe this will help. Glad to help and God bless!
Thank you so much. For a yeast/dough beginner (?), this was very helpful cause I was struggling today.
You actually added MORE instant yeast, 1t of instant yeast is 3.15g and active dry yeast is only 2.83g. Active dry yeast has a coating on it that needs to be dissolved first, instant does not, hence you can add without dissolving first. Using Baker's percentages you would want to have 2% of active dry yeast in a recipe and only 1% of instant yeast in a recipe. Hopefully this is helpful :)
Sure mam this is very helpful for me ... Thanks alot ❤️
Glad your sharp eye picked up on the gram differences! I seem your comment before I even watched the video
Thanks for this very valuable information! God bless!
@@RichandFreb your video was q cool test too & good to know not to much difference... especially in a pinch (which is how I found your vid and channel). Now, I'm planning on making my own yeast. Now that was an interesting side search!
@@carter_1 Did you make your own yeast? I just began using sour dough starter, but only like it for certain recipes because of the sour taste.
I was hoping to keep a liquid yeast alive by beginning with dry yeast - hoping to avoid the sour taste and thinking I can just feed it every other day like I would with sour dough starter.
I could never understand why active yeast has to be proofed before hand. This is the first time I have read that active yeast is coated and therefore needs to be dissolved first.I have watched more than 100 bread videos. I believe you .Thanks for new info.
I also saw the comment and this was also the first time I knew about that. I just know how to use them, but it is nice to know also the reason behind. God bless!
Now lang ako naliwanagan on how to work on this different yeast, thank u so much.
Magandang araw po! Glad to help and God bless!
Its better talaga na mag research muna , at very helpful s part ko na mapanood ito, salamat po chef di n ako confused s gagamitin kong yeast. God bless po.
Happy to help po, pero hindi po ako chef, natuto na din lang ako through YT. God bless! :)
Your explanation is too good to clear all my doubts.thanks a lot.
Glad it helped! thanks!
I still bloom instant dry yeast and get the same result. More power & stay safe!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. I am a novice baker (really novice, I hate to bake, but it is a great necessity). I now know the difference!!!!
You're wlecome, glad to help and God bless!
Really? I love baking!
This was very helpful to me. I had just received a package of instant dry yeast and had no idea how to use it.
Nice! Glad to help and God bless!
Thank you for this Video. Very informative as i am starting to learn baking
Ang instant yeast po pala ay sa dry mixture while the Active Yeast is hinahalo na sa milk. Thank you sir ❤️
You're welcome po and God bless! Happy to help!
Maski saang liquid pwedeng gamitin ang active yeast hind lang sa milk, the difference ang active yeast you have to bloom or activate it first for several minutes while ang instant yeast no blooming required. pwede mong ihalo agad-agad.
Thank u for sharing i have been baking for many years and i prefer instant quick rise yeast its not to yeasty taste on bread, active dry i find it taste bad on bread i dont like the smell.
I was doing everything wrong....
I was added instant dry yeast to warm milk to activate 😤....
This video is really helpful.... thanks....
Magandng araw po! Glad to help, God bless!
can also do that...
I prefer active dry yeast for my Bread Recipes. Gives me a little more time prepping everything
Thank you so much for this video. I started wanting to make my own bread. I accidentally hought the instant dry yeast. I noticed reipes called for dry yeast so i was confused on how to use the instant.
Testing different yeast methods this week. Thanks for the info

Thank you for sharing this video. Now we know the difference between active and instant yeast😊😊😊.

Thank you and it's a success for me after following your video. I used bread flour which is softer, smells good, a bit crunchy on the outside and it stays soft until the following day.

Magandnag araw po! Thanks for the kind words! God bless!
I used yeast today for the first time when it comes to making dough and I was so nervous because half and hour had passed and my dough didn’t really look different.. but then I placed it in a warmer spot since my home is cool.. and then an hour later it didn’t rise as much I expected. But seeing this video helped me to just trust the process haha
Thanks for this video. I’m making my first bread and have an instant dry yeast in my kitchen. Learned a lot... 😊👍
Happy to help! God bless1
Ayan, di na tayo maloloka at magpapanic sa kaibahan ng instant sa active..heheh .im looking forward to more informative and simple videos like these. Oo nga tama kayo, sir rich, may nababasa po ako abt bread improvers, pwede po ba iadd na lang ung bread improver sa recipe na ito?
@@lorrakeet1078 Magandang araw! I have never used bread improvers, and hindi ko pa sila napapag aralan kung ano ang ingredients or purpose nila. Once I know about it I'll share it with you, as always :) God bless!
Thank you so much. I wanted to know this for so long.
Glad to help and God bless!
In my experience i am more comfortable of using active dry yeast bcoz i can see if the yeast is still alive.
You can still pre proof instant yeast, it just gives it a bit of a head start.
This is such an informative video. Thank you.
You're welcome, happy to help!
Fascinating. Great video. It looks to me like the instant would give it more height. I always feel like my breads are short... like me. '4, 10 1/2".
Is there any difference in smell of instant dry yeast and the active dry yeast? (before using it.) Or how I would know if my yeast is instant dry yeast or active dry yeast?
Because I forgot what I'm using now, cause I transfer my yeast in the container. Thank you for sharing.
I don't think there's a difference in odor between the two. For the process, some pros that I know blooms both the active and dry yeast the same way by adding it to a warm liquid. Still gives the same results.
This video was a big help for me. Thank u. Will I take the same amount of yeast if I replace dry yeast with instant dry yeast?
The pros said that there might be a little bit of a difference in weight, but for me as a home cook if the recipe calls for 1 tsp of instant yeast, i substitute it with 1 tsp of active dry yeast. So in short, yes, for home bakers.
Very helpful video for new beginners.
Thanks and God bless!
Thank you for this demonstration. Some people still add the instance dry yeast to lukewarm water for some reason.
Yes, I agree, and according to the previous comments that method also works. God bless!
This is very important information,thanks
You're welcome and God bless!
I use Allisons active dry yeast and do not dissolve it first in a bread machine I put wet ingredients first with salt and sugar then flour, bread enhancer, milk powder, and finally the active yeast never had a problem with it it comes out really nice I prefer it to the instant dried yeast and get better results
Nice! I'm also looking to get a bread machine. Never tried on e of those yet. God bless!

Thank you! Can I use regular milk instead evaporated milk?
In short: You have to bloom Active Dry Yeast whereas you can directly incorporate Instant Dry Yeast into the flour.
Exactamento. :) But I also read from the comments that others still bloom the instant dry yeast and yeilds the same results. God bless!
Very useful video, thank you very much. Can you please tell me can i use instant yeast with rice flour.
Magandang araw po! Thanks and glad to help. Unfortunately from what I've read rice flour has no gluten, so it will not rise even if we will put yeast. God bless!

What is the best way to store the yeast for long term??
I do not know the professional answer to this, but for us, we put a clip on the yeast package, and put it inside a zip lock and put it inside the fridge. So far it still works until the yeast expires. God bless!
which one do you think will give me a fluffier result ?
On my experience, both of them would yield the same result. As a rule of thumb, the fluffier it is while proofing, the fluffier and softer the bread will be. Hope this helps, God bless!
thank you for the very informative video between active and instant dry yeast.
Glad to help! God bless!
Thanks, it was helpful 👍

Hi po. Thank you po for the video. Now i know what to use and buy para makagawa ng pandesal. Question lang po, if ang gagamitin ko ay almond flour or coconut flour tapos hinaluan ko po ng yeast. Maglalasang parang normal na tinapay na po b sila? Kasi ung ibang nagawa ko gamit low carb flour. Kakaiba lasa nila. Pang pa alsa lang po ba ang yeast?
Magandang araw po! That is a good one, I have never though of using Almond flour to make pandesal. So meaning to say, hindi ko pa po alam ang sagot dito :) Pasensya na po, baka magkamali pa ako ng sagot sainyo. Pero based sa nabasa ko, kapag inaluan nyo daw ng almond flour ang batter nyo, it will turn out to be softer. I still have to try it, pero as of now yan pa lang ang alam ko about this subject.

Thanks for sharing this video now i know the difference of dry active yeast and instant yeast..
Glad to help! God bless!
I think I mixed the instant dry yeast and active dry yeast together into the dough and keep it in the fridge overnight found out it didn't rise all that.
The yeast doesn't work (or takes a long time to work) in colder temperature. Let it rise in room temperature first before placing the dough in the fridge.
Wow!! Thanks! Well explained!
Thanks and God bless!
Great video, I am learning to make bread currently and just wondering if you go from this to forming a loaf or does it need to rise anymore after you work with it...using instant yeast?
After forming your loaf, let it rest for atleast an hour or two so it will rise and be soft. God bless!
Great video and thank you for this demonstration. I made wheat bread today and noticed that the dough did not rise as much as it should have. So now I know that active dry yeast must be mixed with the warm liquid to bloom. I added the yeast to the flour and rest to the ingredients without doing the blooming process. Which yeast do you prefer to use when making wheat bread?
I am sorry, I haven't tried making a whole wheat bread. Will probably experiment about that one day. God bless!

Which yeast is preferred to use in cinnamon rolls
Either instant or active will do the trick. But for my cinnamon recipe, I use active. God blelss!
i am a biology student who research about yeast baker for my undergraduate thesis. Thank you for the useful video, very help my discover. What is the different from the shape ? because in Indonesia there is "saf-instant" we called it fermipan and idk that's active or instant dry yeast. Thank you !
Good day! Instant yeast is smaller than active dry so it can dissolve easily.
Thanks! Informative video! We now know you could get the same result regardless what type of yeast you're using. I guess you could interchangeably use them to what's available to you. My question is how do you substitute one to the other? Is it the same measurement? If the recipe calls 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast, how much of instant dry yeast would that be? Is it 1:1 ratio just like in this sample video? Thanks in advance! 👍🏼☺️
Magandang araw po, yes,1:1ang ratio nya. In regards to which should we use, I would use whatever is available on my location, basta i know the process of activating the yeast. Glad to help and God bless!
I just Google the recipes name... and type for example: Cinnamon Rolls using instant yeast.
Sometimes Google is faster than vids if you're really wanting to get exact measurements and TRUST ME there's 1,000s of blogs on any topic imaginable!
idol may tanong ako pwedi din ba ang instant for long proofing like 15hrs example 1kg flour= 0.7grams instant yeast ok lang ba siya pang long proofing? walang kaibahan sa dry active?
So helpful thanks. Nice time lapse experimentation.
thanks po s info very informative☺️
question ko lang po anu ang mas magandang gamitin? sa pandesal twice n po kc ako gumawa e same pdin po n ndi soft ang kinalabasan, hoping for your advice po watching from Kuwait🇰🇼 thanks.
Magandang araw po! Glad to help! I really don't see any difference between these 2 yeasts, but ang ibang comments sinasabi nila na ang instant yeasts is better than active dry kasi hindi sya masyadong amoy "yeasty" once baked. I haven't experienced this issue on my baking, more likely personal preference nila un. But performance wise, they both do the same job equally well. About sa softness ng pandesal nyo, I would suggest to proof it longer, kasi the longer you proof it, the more the gas escapes due to the yeast and thus making the bread softer. God bless!
thanks po sa advice sir Rich.. dun po sa comment ko sa other video mo po sa pandesal e natuwa lang po ako sa Salt pero po.. im always watching your channel ang nakaka-inSpired po talaga.. thanks po and Godbless😊
Thanks for sharing this video. I think I understand now why when I tried making dough for donuts it didn't double in size. I probably used an active dry yeast but didn't allow it to bloom first. Maybe next time
Glad to help! Keep trying lang po and don't give up! Fulfilling sya once nagawa yo na :) God bless!
I loved your very informative and easy to follow video.Thank you Rich for sharing your video with us here in You Tube..May I know how many pieces pandesal and what weight did you use in making the one cup flour pandesal in both of your Instant yeast dough and active dry yeast dough?Thank you in advance.:)
Thank you very much for your kind words, I really appreciate this. Usually 1 cup yeilds around 7 pcs. For the weight, it is 50 grams each pandesal. Doesn't matter which type of yeast I used. Here's a video of 1 cup of flour for pandesal using a toaster oven:

Is there a difference in taste, or fluffiness between one or the other?
There is no taste difference between the two. Thanks for watching and God bless!
Rich C kitchen, pls advise which type of yeast works better for making steam bun or lotus Pau? I'd tried 3 times making Steam buns but failed. The skin is hard when it's cooled. It's not fluffy and looks like it's not rising at all. Usually how long does it takes to rise? I heard from friend saying that over fermented dough can be sour in taste. Is that true? Pls reply. Thanks
Magandang araw po! I have never made a steam bun or lotus Pau yet, although I have tried to make siopao before. We used active dry yeast and lard instead of canola oil, and it makes the dough whiter and softer. Other than that, I cannot give you any advice on which yeast is best for steam bun.
does the final product differ ? i want to make beignets and the recipes use active dry yeast
To my non-professional experience there is no difference between instant and active dry yeast. God bless!
I would suggest try blooming the yeast first para maka sigurado po na aalsa ang dough nyo. God bless!

Instant dry yeast should be put also in warm water with sugar before it pour in a flour with salt..only an hour it double the size and more....try it..
Thanks for the tip! Somebody who took culinary class mentioned that to me also, but I still have to try it myself. Thanks and God bless!
Is it always with sugar mix with yeast n what measurement needs to follow every cup of flour ty
At the end, you note that instant yeast can be added directly to the flour, pls gv measurement of yeasts to a cup of flour ty
Can I add the active yeast in the milk ?? And do I add it directly to the dough or should I let it rest in the milk ?? And can I let the yeast rest in the dough after I let it rest for the 2d time I'm confused 😕
You only need to add yeast one time. For active dry yeast, you have to add it on the milk. For instant, directly to the flour.
Sir very nice 👌👍. One question in mind can u Answer to me . 1 to 5 kg flar how much use the instant yeast gm or spoon. & Milk is important for dough use
Hi, I am so sorry, I haven't quantified this yet through weight, but I know professional bakers are using weight as their unit of measurement. I hope I could be of any help but I am still learning too. God bless!
