Happiness is not something that can only be found. Rather, it is something that all of us can achieve, feel and experience.

Being grateful is one of the best ways to stay happy as long with doing for others.

I gave a beggar a dollar and he was the happiest/most deluded man alive. Being grateful is a beggars mindset. A dollar is only ever a dollar but some ppl will tell you its 10,000 dollars.

I bought his book without watching videos of him explaining this concept. I regret it.

I wonder what his children would say listening to him saying that kids don’t make people happy. His argument is that if they did then childless people would be miserable and they’re not. That’s a false logic right there if I ever saw one. Just because kidless people aren’t miserable doesn’t mean that those with kids aren’t happier or just as happy. A good relationship with your kids can bring just as much joy as a good marriage. Children can give people meaning, purpose, drive, love, compassion, support, strength, etc. just because one study didn’t find a correlation between having kids and greater amount of happiness doesn’t mean that other studies won’t find a correlation. One study does not provide conclusive evidence.

Do you know what makes you happy? Daniel Gilbert would bet you think you do, but chances are you're wrong.

This Gilbert guy is so cheesy. I once saw some commercial he did and never forgot how silly and pompous he looked.

Which part was BS to you might I ask?
I would love to hear your perspective!
Please be mindful though that this is a distinguished scientist who has researched these topics and is only giving the gist of these topics to be easily digestible to the masses. In addition, he speaks based on averages and statistical significance. While some of the stuff that he says may not be true to you, they might be true for several people.
Anecdotal evidence can be useful, but statistical evidence is the driving force behind all of what this man is saying
