Re-upload of my cut. This time with "Outlands Pt.II" track which was included in my very first draft of this cut (early 2020) but I had to remove it due to copyright issues later on... Let's see how it will stand out this time. Enjoy it while it lasts.

This film is very underrated. A shame that they didn't do more with the franchise. The guy who directed this also did Oblivion. Another criminally underrated sci fi movie.
people need to stop giving the marvel series soo much attention. the reason TRON got shelved was because they make TOOO much off of Star Wars and Marvel. if people stop paying soo much attention to new garbage and BEG for Older IPs, Disney will have to rethink their metric. until then, we will never see another TRON until marvel crumbles to the ground.
I'm hoping that with the success of Top Gun Maverick, Joseph Kosinski comes back to revive the franchise. He's got some great films that he's done recently so here's hoping.
The film tbh was overrated. It wasn't very good at all...however the music was great!

As anyone who is reading this already knows... There was just something special about this movie
My favourite thing about it is that I had a 3d movie projector and had it up to a 180inch screen. What I love about the film is that all the scenes in the real world were 2d but the scenes within the Grid were 3d, making the viewer feel even more like they were brought into this simulation as much as the characters. Such a small creative decision that made it my favourite film to watch in 3d.

@@DANRYX Also this movie was shot with actual 3d cameras instead of just shooting in 2d and converting that to 3d (which just looks bad in my opinion. Doesn't even feel like there's 3d)
@@ryanq7518 you are correct and I also agree with your last statement.
For whatever reason, the original Jurassic Park movie is the only 2d film that had a good 3d conversion done to it. All others have that cardboard cut out appearance like a pop-up book and some films even gave me a headache.
This film was so ahead of its time.... the soundtrack is just a masterpiece.
The film was bad. The only good thing is the soundtrack which i agree its a masterpiece. Daft Punk are amazing ...

lol Tron: Legacy wasn't ahead of it's time, Tron (1982) was. The soundtrack of Legacy was superb though.

To say that TRON: Legacy is a very special movie is the understatement of the century. I've never ever seen a movie quite like it. It's a love letter to art and the passion of creation, in every shot there's a love for the work that went into it and even after more than a decade of digital advancements the effects and CGI still holds up almost entirely. The fact that there was never a 4K release is an act of theft from Disney, AI upscales could never do a proper 4K TRON: Legacy the justice it deserves.
There was a deliberate effort to bring every part of the film to it’s *maximum potential*.
The score is a masterclass in themes and emotion in musical composition and cannot be praised enough.
The story of Kevin Flynn, a man, literally split in two, trying to create a better world with both versions of him seeing a different path representing the conflict each of us feels within ourselves as we progress in our own lives. Flynn takes several roles in the story; a mentor to Quorra, a god or deity to the programs of The Grid, and an estranged but loving father to Sam. Jeff Bridges portrayed all of these at the same time and did so believably and convincingly.
The Grid itself is as fascinating as any other character and it really deserves its own series or film to fully explore its history, but unfortunately due to Disney discarding TRON as a franchise in favor of more profitable universes we may never see the light ribbons of The Grid again, and I'm okay with that. It's better to see a film like this, which can only be described as beautiful cap off the franchise than see it become a stale series with the same template and sense of humor or plot development (looking at you, MCU).

Went to see it in 3D at the movies because i simply had to on day one release, blow me away because the seats i booked where like racing seats with speakers built into the seats OMG sadly no 4K due to health problems, its sad that Daft Punk split up, and Tron 3 story is now sitting on a book case somewhere !! did yous know the plot is wrote for movie 3 !!

Im so glad legacy seems to be getting more love as time goes on. Im an old guy, saw tron in the theater in 82 as a kid, and I loved this sequel, they nailed it, but it didnt seem to get that great a reaction at first. Ive got the 3d blu ray and its a blast to watch.
Absolutely agree with you here. 👍 It's a crying shame that Disney dropped the ball with this franchise. The movie was great. It just needed better marketing. Btw we must be the same vintage as I was a kid as well in 1982 when I saw Tron at the cinema 😎 Good times
I read the book based on the original 1982 tron, then saw the original movie and finally saw legacy in the theatre. I will admit I hated it that time, especially some of the campy elements. But now it feels completely different to me
Legacy has a number of weak points/deficiencies, but the overall experience makes me easily able to ignore the minor deficiencies.
I do think however that Legacy (like Tron but to an even greater degree) is a "love it or hate it" type thing.
If you get the feeling, atmosphere and message of Legacy (and Tron), you love it, if you don't then you hate it. This is not a slight against those who don't get it, it's just that we are all different and place emphasis and importance on different things we perceive.
Personally I think Legacy is one of those total experience movies that just entirely swept me up and into its world while I watched it. The soundtrack, visuals, callbacks, plot and characters all gelled in a way that just pulled me entirely in.
If however I take a step back and start going all film critic on it and turn off the more emotional experience of it, then yeah I can see why might not have had the broadest appeal or gotten the most critical acclaim.
Don't worry I love Tron Legacy and that's it that matters. Hopefully Tron three comes out soon according to recent announcements
I'm jealous of 80s kids. My dad was in his late teens in the early 80s and he just straight up tells me from time to time "yeah you missed out big time that was America at its peak lol". At least I got to experience Tron Legacy as a 10 yr old
This man is pure awesomeness. Love every cut he does. And, again we are here, to listen at least another 25 times the Tron soundtrack cut.

The visuals of this film deserve an 11/10. Coolest art style I've ever seen in any scifi movie.

These sounds remind me of great moments in the movie....Especially when the mans says, "Good by, kiddo..." . This always brings a tear to my eyes, as he sees his son, in images.....As a dad of five, I would give it all, and my life, in a heart beat to save any one of them.

End of Line - masterpiece!
I'll never forget the moment in the film when the main character walks into the club and that music is playing. It's awesome.

I was a teenager so inspired by a few films and collect the soundtracks, it can play in my mind anytime I want and come to UA-cam to refresh my memories. Great movies always come with distinctive music score but the previous Tron soundtrack is not as iconic as this one that really match the movie and burned into my mind. Very well done!
And here comes this masterpiece in the gym as the bar is coming down slowly...the bar lies peacefully in the ceiling now

I found this mix long ago before it was taken down. I rented a 2020 GTR alongside my buddy who got a Ferrari 458 Spyder. I chose this mix to play on repeat. It was blissful.

Man! This brings back memories! I saw this back when it originally came out, and thought it was pretty decent.
Then, a few years later, I went back and watched the Tron films, and... Wow! I was impressed with this one! One of the coolest underrated franchises out there!
Also, regardless of one's opinions of the plot, everyone has to admit, the film score is spectacular!
Such an under-appreciated franchise! I grew up with the original Tron and boy did that movie feed my 9 yr old imagination!!!

Seeing this movie for the first time in the theatre with my brother was one of the most captivating movie experiences of my life. Total Awe and captivation with the full screen and this incredible music.

24 years old now but saw this movie with my dad when i was a kid. I hope to god it gets picked up for a sequel some day before i pass. Not some shit reboot, but a proper sequel. This was one of the greatest films ever made right here.

Did not think i would like this movie. Wasn’t a fan of the 1st one, but when a sat down and watched this one i was blown away! Soundtrack is a great compliment to it.
If you only listen to a few minutes of this amazing cut, check out 32:16 to 38:15. Rinzler, Fall and The game has Changed. Transitions are beautiful and so epic!
Fell in love with this soundtrack by stumbling upon a re-cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture by Patrick Collins. He used only this music and trimmed the film to about 40mins and it was AMAZING. I admire Jerry Goldsmith's original track, but this music created incredible drama and tension that was much needed in that film. thanks for the upload Matogolf

Amazing.
It is a shame that this movie and soundtrack flies under the radar; to say its underrated is an understatement to say the least. The movie's theme of father and son being reunited is perfectly and flawlessly scored by epic talents of Daftpunk; the music supports the movie effortlessly. Its a case where one can't exist without the other, there was potential if the writing was good to make a series that holds up to likes of all the major trilogies; however, in the end I think Tron Legacy was ahead of its time in regards to special effects versus cost effectiveness. Like a fine wine, good book or good friend this movie gets better with age; because there is so much negativity in life and in entertainment I think the feelings of hope and anticipation are what leaves the audience looking to the future- to the possibilities.
The movie has gotten worse with age. When I first saw it, The atmosphere of the movie was amazing and well done (the great music added to it as great scores always do). But after each viewing , that amazement slowly wore off and was left with a great looking and sounding film, but simply subpar story and acting.

Tron 2 Legacy was definitely one of the very best movies ever to come out back in 2010 I love the music to the soundtrack is perfect my favorite part of the movie is when Sam and Jim walk into the club during the intro to end of line which is my favorite instrumental piece off of this soundtrack we won't get to see the sequel soon before it's too late thanks

Man, I watched this film again, and it's amazing. I hate what they did with Tron at the end but Flynn's self sacrifice is such an emotional scene.

@Scott @Nav B0T to be fair, the guy who did most of the orchestral composing for the film is named Joseph Trapenese, and he did the music for the short TV show TRON: Uprising on Disney XD back in the day. I actually got to meet him the other day through a program at my school and he's a really nice guy. We talked about a couple of his works and I asked him some stuff about Tron and he told me some cool stuff that I probably can't repeat about the scrapped sequel that they had been working on for a good while, but from what I could tell, Daft Punk had mostly just senior oversight. He did a lot of the dirty work for the score but he still really enjoyed working with "the two robots" as he referred to them.

That also explains why Uprising also had a very Tron Legacy sounding OST but with slightly less Daft Punk electronic sounds to it.
I say it can wait another 20 years. Kevin can hide in that keychain backup for another 1200 real life years, conjure up some mean bio-digital jazz. Tron has some cleaning up to do. Maybe find the original ISO generation at the bottom of the Sea of Simulation. Perfection takes time. I try to picture the difference between the original movie and legacy, between legacy and 3.0, cubed. Time will come for that ol' Ducati to roar again. Do it right again Disney, you owe the world.

DAFT PUNK + TRON : LEGACY = FEELINGS. This movie is criminally underrated. I finally understood why the name of the movie is Tron : Legacy. It's Flynn's legacy for his son, Quora, C.L.U and us, the Audience to remind us to just hold on to our loved ones, to stop chasing perfection, it might just be right infront of us.

I actually had a few Tron tracks from the OST played at my reception. In 2011, the bonus tracks like encom II was sold on a costly CD that I didn't want to fork out. Such great feel good movie that blew me away at the cinemas!!

Underrated is an understatement, this movie did many good things and it was a surprise that something like this could come out of disney after what they did to Pirates of the caribbean, but unfortunately that was the core problem, I blame disney for the lost potential of this movie and for the cease of the franchise, and they won't let go the rights of the same like the killers of art they are
