Mr. Rogan, this video made me tear up because my wonderful son in law was exactly as you describe, protected from discomfort by his mother. He killed himself four years ago.

Anyone can talk about struggling but can also lie about it too. Deception is the greatest tool of the enemy

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 6 months ago about self development. Now I have 428 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessonsÀ we that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.

I was an embalmer for many years. Imagine that. Embalming dead bodies all day. Should be a crime against that kind of job. I was so miserable I’d cry while doing it.

Think about this: Joe was a champion at MMA. All those other guys wanted it too, and they failed but they probably worked as hard but Joe probs had the best genetics and hand eye etc.
So he thinks “it’s all in your mind” whereas for some people, it isn’t.
Some people are born attractive, yet they will always say it’s their awesome personality and confidence.
Lucky people are very susceptible to preaching that it was their mindset that caused their success as it beats saying “I was born lucky”
Much better to claim it was some epic struggle they won.
I’ve spent my whole life dedicated to a career but there’s someone in the industry 5 years younger whom everyone is in awe of, and he doesn’t even work that hard. He has natural charisma. I could work another 50 years and I’d never have that, and I’ve tried SO hard.
I’ve always been naturally bad at sports but I practiced for YEARS and there are guys who pick it up really quickly.
There is literally nothing I’ve ever been talented at, nothing, and I’ve worked so , so hard to be the best and it’s never going to happen.
I had a really bad hand, poor family etc and guys get the golden ticket of rich parents and their superior education and knowledge from mixing in higher circles will always put them rungs ahead.
I’m 41 and I’ve been grafting 20 years. I was working while all the others were partying. Yet even in my friends; those with connections just got handed better opportunities.
For some of us it’s impossible and it makes me want to give up.
I’ve done better than I might have done but I’ll never be the best at anything because God decided to make everything, everything in my life a struggle and difficult. While to lesser men he handed them everything. It sucks
