Okay, I need help on something. I’m playing a band song called “Barnum and Baileys favorite” if you’ve heard of it. I got assigned crash cymbals for it and if you’ve listened to it it has the little c meaning it’s 2/2. I have to play consecutive fast notes in the song, for the majority of the time it’s eighth note eighth rest eighth note eighth rest for a TON of measures. I’m confused on how to speed up the process because in the video he’s doing average whole notes. It’s my first time ever playing crash cymbals and I don’t wanna lose my reputation of being really good at percussion and I don’t wanna ruin our concert and competition because I mess up. Can someone please explain and help me?
This needs more views. Fine work over at Zindjian.
Very helpful video for Band students, my percussionists really enjoyed this.
James Campbell is a master of the cymbals. This is a great video for anyone trying to learn the craft.

Are those Andre Castellanos Marchers?
Why does he flare the cymbals out after he crashes.
So the sound can ring out!
Looks like Phil Woods
