NHL refs eyes and ears don't work unless a coach is calling them on their bullshit. Then they turn into superhumans with unbelievable hearing abilities.
Neon Designs I hate the Penguins but that's honestly hilarious that the refs stop a game this late and this type of game where there was no way for the pens to come back with a 1:57
Unless he was chirping derogatory things to the ref, that ref needs to grow a pair and learn to deal with/ignore trash talk. If you can't, maybe the NHL isn't for you.
Noah Roller You're the one making yourself look stupid bud. For the last time, if it was derogatory, ejection was justified. If not, then the ref needs to grow a pair. How hard is that to understand? Apparently very.
Should put in the penalty box for misbehaving to the referee for 10 minutes. Any player or coach gets a second misconduct or misbehaving penalty shall be remove from the remaining of the game. Similar to basketball with technical foul to any player or coach. First technical foul is a warning, and second technical foul will result of removal of the player or coach from the remaining of the game, and sometimes fines.
Refs need to learn to take some heat lol. The fact that they can hand out a penalty because of something a player or coach says to them or "shoots" the puck near them is ridiculous. NHL needs to fix this.
I'm a hockey fan in England. been following for about 4 years but wondering if anyone can tell me the rule on this. if a bench minor is called, does it not matter who has the puck? Ottawa had the puck when a penalty was called on the pens here.
This should happen more often. One of the few things I like about baseball is that the manager will get tossed for arguing on behalf of his boys. When it's a lopsided game and you're not getting any calls, WTF go for it.
Chirping is when you say mean things to get under another persons skin. Some people typically in the UK call this banter but in Canada we call it chirping because its like the sounds birds make when chirping at each other.
Last night on NHL 17, i shot the puck, it bounced off the goalie pads, went up and behind him, and right when it was about to go in, the damn refs stopped the play because "they lost sight of the puck"..... I lost that game because of it...
JaKe / MIDNIGHT_KR3W I was down by 1 in the last 30 seconds, had a breakaway hit the post and land behind the net, there was a few seconds left when I finally got the puck and by pure chance I centered it hoping to get it to Crosby in front. I immediately one timed it when the pass went through 3 guys and scored with .08 seconds left. I went on to win in OT and I was as happy as could be.
Stephen Schmidt I mean like he used to be good when it was the playoffs and he had played 9 games prior. Now he's a stanley cup champion and thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread.
As much as officials deserve to be respected, I hate when this happens in baseball, basketball, soccer, etc. and a player gets thrown out. Officials turn into power freaks when you establish that it's okay to do this. I'm happy with the consistency of officiating compared to other sports but don't let this become a thing.
As a coach in a 4-1 game with 2 minutes left...yeah I can say I'd chirp the refs a little bit, especially if they had some questionable points in that game. What are they going to do, fine him? lmao
I don't know what I'm talking about, but you really call him a whiner? Barry trotz whines and and tries coaches challenges every goal scores against his team
Extremely unprofessional by Sullivan. You're down 3 goals and there's less than 2 minutes in the game. There's absolutely no need to be yelling at the refs.
Anna Gregg Believe me, I've played hockey before. I've lost a tournament once due to atrocious reffing in the quarter final game. No matter how bad the ref is, you should not release all your anger upon them since they're trying their best. You need to respect them. Especially given the fact that the penguins are one of the top teams in the nhl and one loss means little to nothing to their chances of making the playoffs.
Sid's trying so hard not to burst out laughing.
I love how Crosby is like "I've been waiting for this for my whole life"
Should've challenged it
LOL
The refs really stopped the game for that
MSGBlueshirts Yes, and now a Hurt Feelings report needs to be filled out and sent to Bettman.
MSGBlueshirts yeah Sullivan hurt their feelings like wtf who cares
Crosby trying so hard not to laugh
Kicked out for the last 1:57 for whatever he did that'll show him!
spiral lol
While the opposing team has the puck no less.
bones343 they were up 4-1.. like it had an impact on the game 🙄
NHL refs eyes and ears don't work unless a coach is calling them on their bullshit. Then they turn into superhumans with unbelievable hearing abilities.
Have you ever looked at it from the ref's point of view? Look up "The Zebra." It's an article on The Player's Tribune. It will open your eyes.
Kerry! At least he feels bad about that high stick...
Sounds like you are a great candidate to be a hockey official.
Wow, great article
Aubrey Maiers sully needs to stop chirping at the refs altogether. It’s unbecoming and counterproductive.
I'm a pens fan and I think this is hilarious
Bah, in a 4-1 game with under 2 minutes to go.. might as well tell the refs how you really feel hah.
Neon Designs I hate the Penguins but that's honestly hilarious that the refs stop a game this late and this type of game where there was no way for the pens to come back with a 1:57
At least he was smart and didn't fight it when they said he was ejected. Could have been worse if he got really angry.
*better.
Wasn't worth Sullivan's time or energy to do anything with this... I just wish we knew what he chirped
Its just not worth it to fight it when the ejection was announced. What are we going to get out of do we think if we were the ones doing this?
THE BEST COACH IN THE NHL PERIOD
Crosby just smirking on the bench xD
Crosby looks amused.
I thought i was watching hockey not baseball😂😂
kicking out a coach for the last 1:57 of a 4-1 game is really only proving 1 thing, the ref has skin as thin as a strand of hair.
stares at him without saying a word for a brief moment and then "I'm sorry" and walks away. that's great
Unless he was chirping derogatory things to the ref, that ref needs to grow a pair and learn to deal with/ignore trash talk. If you can't, maybe the NHL isn't for you.
Noah Roller Again, if it wasn't derogatory, then who cares what he said.
Noah Roller You're the one making yourself look stupid bud. For the last time, if it was derogatory, ejection was justified. If not, then the ref needs to grow a pair. How hard is that to understand? Apparently very.
I already know you've never been an official in any sport. Idiot is the correct term for someone as clueless as you.
I can already picture refs putting torts in a straitjacket.
Should put in the penalty box for misbehaving to the referee for 10 minutes. Any player or coach gets a second misconduct or misbehaving penalty shall be remove from the remaining of the game. Similar to basketball with technical foul to any player or coach. What did he say?😂💀
sids the man
I was at this game and those refs were god awful.. sens could get away with murder that game
Cool story
@@scottholder4776 jeez you must not have a life
Sullivan rules
Bettman is going to have a talk with that ref 😂 what a homer
Why was the play blown dead while the Senators had the puck? Wait until Pittsburgh regains possession.
You can see in 0:04 that the referee pointed to Sullivan and signals that he's outta here.
Refs need to learn to take some heat lol. The fact that they can hand out a penalty because of something a player or coach says to them or "shoots" the puck near them is ridiculous. NHL needs to fix this.
lol...you gay dummy.
Are you trying to look dumb?
Kyle clearly isn't the brightest crayon in the box.
What a moron....
i've met Mike Sullivan at downtown of montreal
And... did he told you why he was ejected from that game?
He just told me: Hey guys! How i'il doin'?
Since when did Kevin Bacon become an NHL coach ?? :O
We need TheMook to get the audio
lol the torts is still with you sully
I was at this game
I'm a hockey fan in England. been following for about 4 years but wondering if anyone can tell me the rule on this. if a bench minor is called, does it not matter who has the puck? Ottawa had the puck when a penalty was called on the pens here.
Kai T I think the team in possession of the puck gets a face off closer to the other teams end zone
Tai Lopez maybe you should give that coach a car! 😂
Not sure but they didn't call a bench minor, They were ejecting him so play is stopped immediately.
This should happen more often. One of the few things I like about baseball is that the manager will get tossed for arguing on behalf of his boys. When it's a lopsided game and you're not getting any calls, WTF go for it.
chris14473 plush baseball coaches are the most entertaining to watch get kicked out. They put on a show, it's fantastic. Lou Piniella was the best
Hey all, i dont know what "chirping" means in hockey, anyone could clarify ? Cheers
Chirping is when you say mean things to get under another persons skin. Some people typically in the UK call this banter but in Canada we call it chirping because its like the sounds birds make when chirping at each other.

hah, i once scored with .07 left so obviously im better than you.
Twaid Tortoise DAMN!
Just topped it with a .06 left
Chirping? Where are the birds?
Biggest showoff in hockey, Wes McCauley
That's such a waste of time. No penalty or anything. just an ejection with 2 mins left in a 4-1 hockey game. Of course he's pissed! He's losing ffs!
Bruh there's 2 minutes left in a 4-1 game just let it go
Of course he was crying when isn’t he
Lmao what the hell
Murray needs to not let in 4 against the sens
Hey when the Sens offense lights up that's what happens. We had like 5 players score 20 goals or more last year.
Stephen Schmidt I mean like he used to be good when it was the playoffs and he had played 9 games prior. Now he's a stanley cup champion and thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread.
Sully had to led that hot Boston Irish temper get the best of him.
We all want to chirp refs. Good for him
Lol refs got some salt on him
As much as officials deserve to be respected, I hate when this happens in baseball, basketball, soccer, etc. and a player gets thrown out. Officials turn into power freaks when you establish that it's okay to do this. I'm happy with the consistency of officiating compared to other sports but don't let this become a thing.
McRoshiburgito nba is the worst they are crooked
never beak the reffs lol
Best icon ever
OOF
Hockey is getting so soft its ridiculous
Didn’t even know this was a thing until now. But the fact that it’s Shittsburgh‘s coach makes me even happier.
Sullivan and Malkin should get tossed more. Between Malkin flopping and Sullivan crying, it gives the NHL a bad look
good for him. the refs sucked that game.
As a coach in a 4-1 game with 2 minutes left...yeah I can say I'd chirp the refs a little bit, especially if they had some questionable points in that game. What are they going to do, fine him? lmao
Note to the Pens : There's no crying yourself to a 'W' in Ottawa.
They're the defending cup champs. I think they can handle a loss to the sens.
they beat them 8-5 last month so i doubt they're bothered any more then a regular regulation loss on any night
how's this comment feel now? Yikes
Why kick him out with less then two minutes left tho?
Yea. Really. Kinda pointless.
So just let a coach berate you because there is 2 minutes left in the game? GTFO.
Ejected for what? Jeez! no wonder why a lot of hockey fans stopped watching NHL hockey.
Yeah, so many stopped. Keep watching ESPN, junior.
I'd be chippy after getting spanked by a rival for the 2nd time this season too...
They blew them out 8-5 last time they played. lmao
Unless you were referring to the caps game yesterday.
Timmy Tom Lmao, wake up buddy. Pens won the first meeting 8-5. Where have you been?
They won the first meeting 8-5. And how tf are the Pens and Sens rivals?
I'd imagine he's referring to the Caps
Stripes are a buncha Prima Donnas last couple of seasons looking for attention.
These NHL officials are getting out of hand, this is just stupid, theyre turning the greatest sport in the world into a joke!!
that's what happens when you try do crosby's job
What?
normally it's crosby complaining to the refs
you do realize Crosbys captain responsibility allows him to speak to the officials right? hope you enjoyed him winning his 2nd stanley cup
Jesus Christ Pittsburgh can't you lose a game and not whine about it.!
0:20 crosby is enjoying the warmth of pissing his pants
What
Who's saltier? Sullivan or pens fans
your mom's snapper?
Amazing roast buddy.
xETownConcrete The crap?
That's what they get. always crying.
another L for the pens!! wonder what he said...
Ejected for shedding a tear.
they can afford a bad stretch after going 12-2 last month
Sens4Lyfe6 another L? lol that's your first win against us in years idgaf
Thank you for restoring my hope, tommy.
Pens gonna get another cup.
First time we've lost 2 in a row in regulation this year. "another L" is hardly appropriate.
He's a good coach, but a whiner. Along with Torts. It's pathetic, but hey maybe it works.
TheSteven91stamkos that's exactly the right time. If you saw the game, you'd understand his frustration
Anna Gregg Believe me, I've played hockey before. I've lost a tournament once due to atrocious reffing in the quarter final game. the NHL is a joke now. the refs just want their TV time... it's why i don't watch anymore
Steven Lord watch a nfl game and you'll go right back to hockey
Eh that's a good point. All the refs accross all the leagues and salty and seem to take everything personal... And have a macho power mindset
iGame85 nfl games are 7 minutes of action in a 4 hour time span...no thank you
Frank P football is slowly turning into baseball with all these commercial breaks. Not much action and better to play than it is to watch
