    Hey friend, I am starting to learn the rose but I got that Revlon dryer and it is too powerful and even on warm it is hot and dries my ink and alcohol in a very short time. So I'm going to take it back to Target. But today at Walmart I found a Conair similar to Revlon and it is much better for me. It has 2 settings for wattage I guess 250 and 125. It's on 125 now and I experimented with it and now I'm going to change it to 250 and see what happens. Cost about the same as Revlon. Love your Rose's. Hope mine comes out like yours. Stay safe.

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY 4 роки тому +1

      Thank You and You're Welcome. That is good info to have about the dryers. I do low speed on somethings and high on others. Also adding a drop or two of glycerin to your alcohol can act like blending solution and keep it from drying too fast. Watch The Frugal Crafter on Glyerin. If it does dry too much I just add alcohol and continue working the ink. Thanks for the feed back.

      If I may interject, I don't think one could do anything like this with alcohol inks and water. You make a great point, though, about fumes of high % isopropyl alcohol.. Proper masks, (not the now ubiquitous surgeons masks, for example), good ventilation, and pet consideration is recommended!

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY 2 роки тому

      Yes I put down alcohol then drop the ink in. It may also help to add a little of ink in with alcohol before hand so it is already mixed. I just put a little ink -10%+ with 70-90 % alcohol and take a pipette or put in a bottle and add it to the paper premixed. Don't give up . You can do this.

    I bought this dryer on Amazon recently. I sent the first one back because it was too hot on the cold setting. The second one blows way too hard (high) on cold, plus is not really cold either, but warm. These blowers are useless. Most likely you got yours a long time ago, when they were better! Please don't recommend this dryer any more, they simply don't work. If anyone can find a dryer without handle that blows cold air gently, let us know. Then we might be able to make these roses! FYI, the sound of your dryer tells me that the air comes out your dryer much more gentle than mine!

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY 4 роки тому +2

      This dryer ( revlon ) has a low and 2 high settings. On high there is a heat and cool and on low it is warm. I just got mine a few months ago so I don't think they would have changed them. I use it for the heat but the cool isn't too hot. I am sorry it didn't work for what you were needing it for but they are good dryers. Maybe an airbrush would be more to your liking as it has no heat to it. I hope you find something you can work with.. Good Luck.
