      Marley sang the remix.
The original version (this one) was done by Johnny Nash.
Johnny Nash was the man who made Bob Marley what he became. Nash funded the creation of the Bob Marley and the wailers group.

I'm picky about Bob Marley covers because very few get it right. He got it right.

I’m certainly no vocal coach but he has great pitch and a killer vibrato. It’s odd hearing a Raggae song sung more like a pop or R&B song - I don’t know if I’ve heard the original - but Nash certainly pulls it off. I’m going to have to go find the original now. (The horns are interesting. I’ve heard a lot of songs like this since I’ve been to the Caribbean and areas around there. But I only remember in that musical genre guitar, drums, bass and maybe Xylophones? I think that’s what they’re called.)

While the Beatles, ob la di ob la da arguably one of the 1st to 'hit'... Nash, I can see clearly / Stir it up put Ska / Reggae clearly and solidly 'on the map' thereafter here in the 'States.. Such " Feel Good " tunes 😌🤗😁😏😋. Late 50s early 60s, Country/Pop/Soul - late 60s early 70s, Top 40 'Boss' Radio/Power Pop + (😢'bubble gum'😮‍💨🤗) Prog/Country crossover(straight, pop, rock), thank yew Lo-retta 😁 Soul-R&B and yeah Glam & origin Metal too - late 70s early 80s, Punk🤨..yes🧐/New Wave/New Power Synth Pop/Alternative + (😮‍💨🧑‍🎤hair metal🙄💇) Hip-Hop ...... No he didn't. Bob Marley himself approved this remake and even had the Wailers back Johnny on his studio recording of the song.
