My first decent bass was an GSR205SM, and still one of my favorites.
100% worth the price tag, this thing will last you a long while, whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, its a great choice.
I have one and it is truly extraordinary for a low price bass with a great tonal range. Beats the cr*p out of my '65 Bison Bass for versatility, if not savagery!
I modded mine with a EMG csx pickup in the neck and a dsx in the bridge and that x series active tone knob
Turned it into pro bass
Great content. Someone who’s actually not a moron. Thank you some good little tips in here.
Thank you!
I loved watching this! Your content is great and your presence and voiceover is really soothing. I'm a little disappointed this is the only video of its kind on your channel - I would definitely watch these for other instruments!
I love that you showed how to setup the bass as well! Great video
Awesome video man! Exactly what I was looking for
Thank you
Looking to buy a bass for our church. Thanks for review. This seems a decent bass for a reasonable price.
I never would have thought they were passive pickups with a battery. I learned something new. Although I am a guitar player, that rule about the battery doesn't apply to us haha
Great, informative video. Just subscribed!
Thanks for sharing. Very informative.
If it's anything like the SRs, taking the volume down will let you have the phat on full without overdriving it.
I was considering learning to play bass on this
Great video, thanks!
Cheers!
At 7:41 I wish I could figure out what the word is you said about the battery “So I went and “triffed” it with the battery” I’m guessing your not saying the word “triffed” but that’s what it sounds like ?.
My reason for asking is I have one of these bass’s and I’m unclear weather you disconnected the battery but then you also said “replaced”
I watched this video more than a few times and I’m still and unsure if if eliminated the battery completely and made the bass totally passive or not ?
Nice video btw 👍
thanks
Someone is selling this for 260 $ and it's less than a year old and they bought it new for $410. Would you say it's worth it? I can also "retune" it for free at the store until autmn, but idk anything about that
Are you sure they're single coil pickups? The information on their website as well as the shape suggests they're humbuckers.
the 4 string gsr200 model has pickups which are crunchier, have more airy presence which I really like , but this 205 model have different pickups
Is 205 has a bad pickups than 200?
@@gomgommendewa9141 not bad, they are different, check nordstrand pickups they are best modern pickups to upgrade
Greetings Gregory, I recently bought a second-hand one, I don't know if it is the same model as yours, since it has Jazz-type pickups, and its sound is very good. I compared it in a video I made with a Yamaha rbx 374 and despite not to put new strings on them, it performed very well.
I want to play bass guitar. Can I buy this bass guitar as my first bass guitar? Will it be good for me?
@@maqa-pubgmobile4168 If you are a beginner, this bass comes in handy and you can get it second-hand for up to $200.
@@samirchigo thank you! I will buy it in 2 month
What would be the tuning problem for the 5th. bass string, I use the tuner "TUN-E Chormatic Tuner" and the truth even broke the string, I replaced it but again it does not reach the note of "B"
You could try a harmonic on the 12 fret, its annoying, but it works
Where did you buy it from?
Where on the internet did you buy from?
I want to play bass guitar. Can I buy this bass guitar as my first bass guitar? Will it be good for me?
Could be. but, I advise getting a 4-string bass if you are an absolute beginner and want an easier start :)
$175 can you share the online store link? Tq
Why is my ibanez gio soundgear drains battery too fast, like from 9.26Volts to 8V in a 2 hour gig… 3-5 days unplugged for 5 days
is this a mikro bass?
This bass cost 299 new, is it still worth it at that price? 🤔
sure, it's pretty reliable and competes well with other brands at that price point
Yea I purchased mine last month and cost 299
Nobody needs a bass batter than that. I’m sure it’s good enough to do profession work.
Thanks! Yes it's been working out fine so far. ua-cam.com/video/KOsSPZNSuxk/v-deo.html
The difference between the sound of this instrument and a similar expensive style bass no one would be able to tell other than bass nerds. Even then, if you played it very well on a song those bass nerds might think it was an expensive instrument as well.
@@criticaltheist3992 yep
interesting
Does it work without the battery?
As a person that has a bass that works on a battery i will say it doesn't work and if it works it will give a very low output
What about the tone knob? Youbdidnt even touch that.
I have this on the way, 23lb. Anyone else have this who can tell me if it’s annoyingly heavy after awhile? I wanted the 10lb
1 of the worst bass out there i had to return it nice look but thats not why i play bass not made to last
Build quality was great on mine But pickups preamp sucked so
I put EMG X series pickups and btc prepamp in it Made it a tone monster sounds great cuts thru the mix cost me 330 for the EMG stuff but I only paid 140 for the. Bass used in perfect condition
Otherwise stock they sound crappy
