This video has always given me nostalgia I remembered I was a scared sanwa user because I was told it was best. I watched this video and decided to bite the bullet get Seimitsu so once and for all I can know the difference. I had in my stick and it was amazing. I can't imagine my arcade stick life without my semitsu. Anyone else out there needs to try it before casting judgement. He explains it so well even years later.
Sanwas are good for fighting games, the longer throw means a bigger margin of error for executing moves. Seimitsus are better for tight, precise movements, which makes them great for shmups, platformers, basically anything that's not a fighting game.
@Son Rukiri, this is my first time modding an arcade stick because I do play a lot of Tekken. I bought a Hori RAP N Hayabusa, I didn't like the stock joystick on the RAP N Hayabusa so I bought the Seimitsu LS-56-01-AS (see link). It turns out the LS-56-01 is stiffer than the LS-32. How do I make the LS-56-01 similar to the LS-32 in stiffness? The joystick I bought did come with different springs. Is the 2lb spring recommend on a Seimitsu LS-56-01 or the 1.12lb spring? arcadeshock.com/collections/joysticks/products/seimitsu-ls-56-01-as-multi-tension-joystick
@@owainkanaway8345 I like to keep all my sticks to LS-40 tension and the 1.12lb sounds a bit excessive as it's supposed to be a bit tighter than an LS-56. Maybe try the 0.9lb spring. For the JLF for me, that means an LS-33 spring coupled with a 0.5lb custom JLF spring from Paradise Arcade Shop.
much myself. It's a bit too loose for my comfort and doesn't recenter very well IMHO. I prefer the Seimitsu joysticks for the gated microswitches and higher-tension springs. They also actually work well, for the most part, with retro-games. Again, I can't tell you which lever to buy --- they're all pretty good. The Seimitsus mainly differ by spring strength and the distance to activate the directional microswitch. LS-32 is my personal favorite but others like the LS-40 or LS-56, too.
I wish people would stop asking which joystick lever is better! NOBODY can answer that question for you... Just get to a tournament or try out a friend's joystick if they have different types installed. Yes, it's a predominantly Sanwa market but that doesn't mean it's the best joystick or even one most of us like to use... Most people are too cheap to replace the control levers and don't want to go through the hassle of selling or buying replacements, too. I don't like the Sanwa JLF
What you have here is actually the LS-32-01, the PCB type. I'm more a fan of the fastener type setup, as it doesn't matter the direction your switches are facing.
Thanks for the informative video mate, planning on building myself a USB arcade stick for PC and wasn't sure whether to go with Sanwa or Seimitsu. Probably gonna pick up an LS-32 off the back of this though! Also, it really looks like a face around a minute in when you're holding the two sticks side-by-side, hope that was intentional.
If I want to install a Hori Hyabusa on a Mayflash f500 which uses an easy 5 pin (a female/female) connector could I rotate the plate or would that throw off the micro switches?
@@griftgfx hey thanks for the reply. Turns out you can actually fit a Hori Hayabusa in there regularly without issue. You can also unscrew the Hori Hayabusa PCB so it isn't locked in place making it easier to connect.
Quick question. I’m currently working on restoring my Aero City. I bought a Sanwa stick for it and it does not sit well/mount with the original control panel. Should I switch to Seimitsu sticks? If so what model would work?
11 year old video...and it pops up on my feed now! kek, anyways assuming you read comments, why were you so stressed about your work and have things gotten better since then? (no one asked in the comments here!)
I understand video is old. But couldn't you just have flipped the 5 pin connector 180 degress and plugged in the seimitsu instead of rotating the mount plate?
The distance the seimitsu actuator has to travel is a lot less. I believe they are touching in the seimitsu but the Santa has some dead space to travel
Madcatz uses SS plate, so get the seimitsu ls-32-02, you don't even need to switch cable order since they model was designed to be used as sanwa replacement
Quickplaya I'm finding that out myself these days. I've got a sanwa, hayabusa, and semitsu stick....it's all about the spring tension, and your personal execution. A stick is only as bad as the person using it.

Cool video man, thanks for the effort !
Could do with something covering how to change a cable meant for a Sanwa joystick and usb interface to fit a Seimitsu.
how to connect wire to handle means how to sholder such type of pin is there in handle I dont have this type of wire

SS mounting plate or SE mounting plate... guess it depends how long you want the stick
The wires can be easily removed with a paperclip and re-arranged as needed.

@Stefano Pavone Bro shut the fuck up

The slingshot effect has killed me a few times by activating the opposite direction when I just wanted to return to center.

I bought a pair of qanba q4 sticks one a standard and one SE simply for the seimitsu stick.

This is old, but if you rotate the joystick you can just change the order of the wires in the 5-pin harness to orient the inputs correctly.

Another good video man.
Superb video!♠️
If you are tired why force yourself to film this video dude? Get some rest then worry about this later. We still gonna be here lol

Just take measurements and Google it you lazy fuckin idiot.

What`s the name of that game playing in the background on the Aero City?
Mars Matrix
Astro is running Mars Matrix. Aero is running one of the Strikers 1945 games (looks like II but I might be wrong).
The distance the seimitsu actuator has to travel is a lot less. I believe they are touching in the seimitsu but the Santa has some dead space to travel
you would sell joystick; send via mail to brazil. What would be the value?
Qual modelo senimitsu seria melhor pra um jogador de Tekken?
Explain wiring?
Hi! How do I know when to replace the stick?? (Mad Catz SSF4 TE S fightstick)
thx!
Madcatz uses SS plate, so get the seimitsu ls-32-02, you don't even need to switch cable order since they model was designed to be used as sanwa replacement
How the he’ll do you plug those pins?! What the hell?!
DAmn Seimitsu joy looks tight
Toiught like a tiger.
have fun working
nice
ya be careful not to lose your two nuts lmao
You can replace the spring for a specific tension for like 5 bucks.... so...... IN THE END IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH STICK YOU GO WITH!@!@!@!@!@!@!@

Eletromatic made in Brasil 😭
Ha ha nice way to end the video.
If you tired don't make videos 🤦🏽♂️
