One hundred years ago a movement like none other since shook the very foundations of the American church. People reported speaking in tongues, new denominations were formed, and the Charismatic Movement was born. This documentary looks, in depth, at the inception of this movement and the mystery and controversy surrounding some of its beliefs.
In 1906, William J. Seymour, a one-eyed black pastor from Louisiana, son of a slave, journeyed by train from Houston to Los Angeles, only to be locked out of the church that sent for him. He turned to prayer and God's answer was The Azusa Street Revival. It shook the foundations of the church, spawned numerous denominations and changed the lives of six million people forever. The Azusa Street Project investigates the mystery and controversy behind: Salvation, Sanctification, Baptism with the Holy Spirit and Speaking in Tongues. Interestingly, I continue to return to The Azusa Street Project and its documentary to watch it; especially when I need to to revived. Sadly, we don't get this in ministries today.( This shows me how God can truly move and willing to to move in our lives if we allow Him to do so. We have to be willing vessels for the Holy Spirit to be activated in our hearts. 5/28/2024

Never give up wanting to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, speaking in Tongues increases your faith, Jude 20 . Building up your most Holy Faith by praying in the Holy Spirit.
When you don't know how to pray for people , you can always pray in the Holy Spirit, then you know you are praying God's will into their lives and not your own will for them.

my country doesn't need tongues or manifestations (drunk in the spirit), most of us can undertand basic english. we need God and his salvation! our neibouring country india is expert in those manifestaions and i cannot tell the difference when compared to the pentecostals. God help us.

You can not get the Holy Ghost if you have a hated and a racist heart, you can not!! Just like you can not get into haven with a heart full racist hate the Bible say that no corruption shall inter into the Kingdom of God. That means that no hate and racist hate of any kind and all sin will not inter the kingdom of Jesus Christ lord God almighty.
the "third work of grace" (as they theologised) is never taught in new testiment, only described, a sovereign work of God for the initialtion of the church. only salvation and sanctification are repeatedly taught by Jesus and his apostles. speaking in gibberishes is as new age and post modern as it get. a demonic doctrine that drag people away from logic and reason, thus from the God who reveal knowledge of himself. our faith in Christ is not about experience but understandale truth
Soli. How do you explain the healing that occurred there. Satan cannot heal anyone. The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Read Matthew 12:31:32 .

Paul, while not one of the 12 Apostles of the Lamb, was certainly an Apostle. Scripture confirms the same. Paul said he spoke in tongues and wished that we all did.
At the birth of the Church on Pentecost, Peter attested that what was happening had been prophesied by Joel.
Regarding the glossolalia, I read somewhere that roughly 17 different ~religions manifest some sort of speaking in tongues, but only Christianity speaks in tongues by the Holy Spirit. It is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who baptizes born-again believers in the Holy Spirit. If a manifestation of tongues occurs apart from the Spirit of God, it is at best a work of the flesh, at worst a work of the devil, who always tries to counterfeit the power of God, but never succeeds.
so the pentecostals took a few verses out of context to build a huge emphasis on a manifestation (that can even be man made as they all encourage) that is not even remotely focused by Paul himself. how much more unbiblical can this get? wonder why they never 1 Cor 14:10,12,13 and 20,28 just count the number of verses paul used to argue the exact opposite of the pentecostal understanding, but of course, nobody cares what paul teaches, everyone wants to "edify" themselves.
Paul himself was a Pentecostal Christian, as evidenced in the texts and contexts you cited.
