No doubt. My friend is pretty high level for around baton rouge and sparring him I'm instantly aware of how much better he is than the people I normally spar with. I'm nothing special, in no where near his ability btw, I just know if he went full out I'd be done in seconds. He could wear whatever belt he wants I know what he normally wears quickly.
As someone who has coached people in various games to get better. That moment when they beat you fair and square for the first time.... Always makes you so proud as a teacher. And when they continually beat you with ease, that's when you know that they've grown beyond what you can offer. And you've succeeded as their master as you've passed on all of your talent and knowledge to your student.
I remember watching that video with Chris Weidman and the next time I saw him in the gym, as I used to train at Serra BJJ years ago, I asked him if that was real and he said no. He said it was just a joke...lol...cool video! :)
I absolutely loved my academy/dojo. My Instructors and Master Shifu was awesome. They taught me mental and physical discipline and so much more. Mostly Karate/kung-fu but many other marital arts were taught. They'd see what you excelled at and focused on that. :) Once during a Halloween party my parents let me attend (was 11 at the time) me and the other students were messing around and we, including the instructors were in on a bet on who'd be able to scare Shifu. Well, my sweet innocent self was the one who finally got a small jump scare on him. Only to be quickly countered, flipped and held like some mail package before being tossed on the mats. I laughed so hard, only because he convinced the other younger students he was going to kill me after the prank- pranking me friends back. Really miss that place. Was about to attend tournaments when Lupus hit me hard, I truly believe if not for all the training on how to fall or save yourself from a trip, mental discipline and encouragement.. I'd be dead. Not only from protecting me neck/head from dangerous falls frop stairs but mentally when on my death bed and going through mistreatment of doctors. *edit due to drunken autocorrect
@Noel Z. lol I know. Kid me called him that, bit older me called him just Shifu. But old habits die hard when I have all those great memories. I look back on it and have to remind myself it's like saying "master master" and simultaneously awe and facepalm for that innocent me.
I think these pranks may be fun to watch, but maybe not to have them played on you. I did not like prank number 9 where a professional fighter is just roughing up beginners/ mostly white belts. What is the fun in (pranking) roughing up a beginner when most of the time they have no ego and they even know they are not that good, it kind of seems a little bit bullyish. That type of prank looks better when it's played on high level or highly competitive purple and brown belts, and maybe even a higher level blue, but not a room full of beginners.
One thing about jujitsu in a gym or ring fight compared to what you do in a street fight is regarding digit (finger twisting) manipulation and choke holds. I bend fingers if possible to move an opponents arms or grip an Adam's apple with thumb and forefinger after putting them into a guillotine type head lock. Or stuff my fingers up their nose to then secure a rear naked choke. Sport fighting martial arts are different to street fighting.
as taekwondo player i have to said only oner thing !!!! belts is just buuuulshit !!!!! the passion and the love of the marts makes you good not the belts !!!!
Dude has ten stripes on his black belt. If he truly has 10th degree. One his belt should be red. And secondly. He would not act like this. Grand master would not act like that.
“Got beat up by a girl”, clearly has not been to a BJJ class. That “girl” was a purple belt, they often beat men twice their size because their technique is so good.
@@duhurensohn8416 I gotta call bs as well. All the technique in the world couldn't overcome a 100lb muscle advantage. If he were serious and fighting for real in a street fight, she'd get destroyed. When you lock up with a person that has even a 15lb advantage, it is immediately apparent, let alone a 100lb muscle advantage.
pascal reitmeier - Here’s the original: ua-cam.com/video/KzXQGMqY8_E/v-deo.html Weight/muscle can be overcome by technique in almost any stress tested fighting style (i.e. not bs like tai chi). When you are doing jiujitsu, the white belt bluff disappears in 3 seconds. You can immediately tell the level of your opponent on touch.
Did you see that mustache?! No one will guess the skill of a man with such a mustache, even after 10 rounds
Not really true

I can tell skill level by the way my opponent walks and conducts himself.
