Saw my very first hockey game there in 1872 after we moved here from Valley Forge. Also got to see the Great Bird of the Galaxy, Gene Roddenberry, speak in 1977 to a capacity crowd on Star Trek. Great memories.
We went down to stake n shake had breakfast then walked across 40 then down by the police horse barn it was the perfect place to watch it was sad I think I saw every rock band preform thire my grandma would take us to see the circus saw many a blue's games aswell even rolled down those damn steps if anyone says they never did that very same thing they are lieing everyone fell down them
America is always far too quick to demolish things like this. In the UK alone I can think of the Wembley Arena in London, Kelvin Hall in Glasgow and Kings Hall in Belfast. All built between the wars, all superseded long ago by newer, bigger better venues but all now preserved as listed buildings, the interiors long since renovated and brought up to 21st century standard but the exterior kept as it was when built. They get used for conferences and exhibitions and Wembley still gets concerts occasionally.
It was the city that forced the owner one to sale the blues and two move them to the arena downtown it a shame that it happened that way just because the owner of the blues and the arena didn't won't to move the team
Don’t forget the St. Louis Steamers!

If that was still around it would be 92 years old as of 2021 it was demolished 2 years and 4 months before I was born
