I always feelt like mindark created something truely terrific by accident and couldn't understand why and lost the "magic" over the time. I want the project entropia days back so badly like its 2005 again.
From 2003-2006 were the best times in PE. You're right too, old PE felt like a lightning-in-a-bottle type of thing, something that ended up being far better than anyone ever would have expected. This was my first MMO, I spent many hours on the Entropia Pioneers boards whenever I wasn't just out running around and enjoying the world. The old Gamebyro engine assets actually made the world itself look alien and the mob density was set to levels where it felt believable and not like the enemies were being crammed into an area as a shooting gallery to extract PED. I still log in from time-to-time, look at the list of friends who have been gone for over a decade, and travel around to see if the magic can be recaptured, but the magic is gone. I think a lot of what made it so special was that the game was such a sandbox that the community itself organized events, created bits of lore, and genuinely came together to make it such a tremendous experience. If a game ever comes out that manages to capture the feeling we got to experience back in those days, I'll be there, and I hope to see you guys there too.
Jesus... The nostalgia hits me so damn hard when listening to these old tunes. 💥 Wish EU had an option to play every tune from early 2000 up to present day.
love this soundtrack
