Resurrection evidence: What happened to Jesus' body?

After Jesus was crucified, his body was placed in a cave and a large rock was rolled in front of the entrance. Roman guards were ordered to stand and keep watch over it to ensure that the body wasn’t stolen.
However, after three days, Christians believe that Jesus came back to life and came out of the tomb, and that over the following 40 days he appeared to hundreds of people.
