This message answered a question I've been asking the Lord for a long time concerning the purpose of the law of Moses especially since Abraham had a Covenant relationship without it his entire life.
It makes so much more sense now. It also reminded me that even though in my past I had a legalistic view of God, He still loved me even in my darkness. I had a relationship with Him even though my understanding of His love and grace was defective.
Such an amazing beautiful revelation.
I think most of us started with a legalistic view of our relationship with the Lord. I can only speak for myself, but it was “the church” that drove that home. Of coarse, the enemy makes it all seem right. Malcolm 25 years ago, was the first one to start untwisting the twisted religion I had. Luckily, God put a couple more people in my life, that taught the same thing. Even at that, it took me a long time, to get free of legalism.

i agree with u that God does not demand are telling him how great and good He is. how does the psalm fit into this that tells us to enter his courts with praise and thanksgiving? i feel that we may the courts, is this nothing moree then reminding ourself of how great God is? also what is the difference between praise and thanksgiving?

This is a list of just a few tunes by name (not hymns by name), all but the last used for the Christmas season. The last is from the Epiphany season of the old church calendar. The tunes themselves arr all quite old enough to be in Public Domain, and the hymnal itself was published hundreds of years ago in 1990.
The fact of their ages, and the fact that they appear in this Official Book and many others doesn't mean they aren't glorifying and uplifting.
Also, I can't sing a tune from words on a wall -- but I can read all the notes of the 4 part harmonies.]

Did you ever wonder about the fact that Jesus "must needs" take a detour through a more or less Gentile area -- where He actually ended up spending "TWO DAYS"? (This in spite of the fact that in Matthew 15:24 He flatly stated, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”)
I am convinced He was slyly but intentionally acting out a prophecy regarding the now, I think, closing "parenthesis" of the "Church Age."
