UA-cam randomly recommended me this video, but I felt convicted by the Holy Spirit to tell you what I know about Jacob’s Ladder. I apologize for the length of this comment, but not for its content. You probably know Jacob’s Ladder comes from Genesis 28 and it was the dream Jacob had where the Lord revealed to him His covenant of life (God’s promise of the land Jacob would inherit. And also a promise of his many descendants, the Israelites). In his dream, Jacob sees the vision of a ladder from heaven to earth with angels ascending and descending upon it, demonstrating God’s interest in making earth His dwelling place among His people. One of Jacob’s earthly descendants was God in the flesh, Jesus. In John’s gospel (John 1:51), Jesus tells Nathaniel that he would see heaven opened up with angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man, which was a phrase Jesus used to identify Himself. So Jesus essentially indicated that the vision of Jacob’s ladder was fulfilled by Him; He is the pathway to heaven, and he was God dwelling among God’s children. The Bible says God will make a new heaven on earth in eternity, but will be the dwelling place of those who trust in His Son, who is the Way, or the ladder to God. May you trust Jesus today. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
