IDK whether its just a masterclass of theater arts, natural ability or fact the MOST of co-stars mid, at best. There's very few actors/actresses that watch play character & completely forget, "this is a script" or "this person isnt real" due the authenticity of the scene. Considered 2017 was time iEven heard of the show. And iAlready had my mind made up that missed one of the all time greatest characters EVER!

Sheila is by far my favourite character in this show and her actor does a phenomenal job. I love the way they portray her agoraphobia and paralyzing social anxiety and sometimes it's played for laughs but most of the time they portray it so well.
Started Shamless for the first time like a week ago and im already at the beginning of Season6 and loving it. Although in the middle of S2 up to the end of S4 it got really depressing, so im was happy that S5 picked up the lighthearted Side more again while keeping the drama and stuff like that at a realistic level

Even knew kids(when i was a kid) with families very similar to The Gallaghers. I think Shameless is dark dramedy perfection and when things get serious they hit hard.
Frank knows he isn’t a good dad, he tries to gaslight us (the viewers) and all the other characters into thinking he’s a good dad. Does he do it well? Absolutely Not!

Let me explain this relationship, i’m not going to condone it, but I want you to understand where Ian is coming from. He finds him sexually hot. And he wants him even if he was 45 ! Because I was Ian at one time, and I knew a 37 years old man when I was 16. I was too chickenshit to do it so nothing happened and I regret it even today, I know that’s hard to understand, but I do, i’am 50 now
A lots of the underage kids get with grown adults. I would say the biggest flaw of this show is perhaps that it never gets into question how many predators there are. But at least they aren't like, main relationships i guess
lip was sad and angry that he felt lied to by his brother when they used to tell each other everything, and he let it out in an angry missing the point lets be mad at this other thing instead. yeah a bit was him not getting it also, but that just took over this other more deep reason. u can see it at the end, a little talk and he would have been, "okay cool, tell me about it"
I think what a lot of people don’t realize in their reaction to Fiona in the first episode is how much she does is truly what so many woman do on a daily basis for their family and there’s so many times taken for granted or not acknowledged for what they do.

+Alex Chris No wearing your shoes inside someone’s house isn’t normal in the U.S. especially in the winter. Though when you grow up in a neighborhood like these character then it seems kind of ridiculous to take your shoes off because most of the houses are pieces of shit. I grew up in a hybrid area that are more decent suburbs with areas that are like the Gallaghers live. There aren’t any nice areas and bad areas it just depends on the road/street. My life luckily was fairly normal and never this chaotic but I had friends whose grew up a sort of similar way to this. I’ve been around these types of people my entire life. So things like underage smoking and drinking as well as drug use are kind of normal. Also alcoholic parents who are basically just like one of the kids are also fairly common. I always say this show does exaggerates quite a bit but it does sort of feel like watching a story about people I could have grown up with just a bit on the exaggerated side if that makes any sense.
Hate to say it but Frank reminds me a lot of my father…He never hit us or stole from us & He was there when we needed him (May not of always been there when we *wanted* him) but the drinking, The parenting style of “Less attention I give the faster they learn to do things for themselves” even how Frank dresses is my dad’s style of dressing & The random drunken rants that most the time are some of the most wisdom nonsense you’re ever heard while being 100% brutal & Not at all childhood friendly & Totally offensive by todays “Karen day era” Reminds me alot of my father
