As part of our Hot Seat series, we sat down with German Studies experts at TU Dresden to see if this is really the case. A degree in German Studies?
At TU Dresden, you can take German Studies as part of the Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies. The degree program combines linguistics and literary studies with perspectives from cultural studies. Linguistics encompasses not only classical language teaching and learning as well as the history of German from its beginnings to the present, but also includes topics such as language use in the media. Likewise, literature covers a wide spectrum of literary history and media studies - from Arthurian legend to theater and performance to contemporary TV series. German Studies are also part of teacher training in German.

@@TUDentdeckenNaja schon irgendwie ironisch etwas auf einer ideologischen Basis zu ändern das nicht in der deutschen Sprache verankert ist. Zumal der korrekte Nominativ im Plural „Germanisten“ wäre.
