Beautiful already and I'm sure it'll be perfection! Great combination of plants and colors. 👍 Love seeing your big teddy bears. 🥰 ADORABLE! Thank you for your videos. 🙏💚🌿🌸
That window box is gorgeous. I understand if you have a theme that works, do it every year. You should be proud of how much you've grown yourself from seed.
I learn so much from your videos and I know exactly what to plant now, thankyou. Also I look forward to seeing Oden and his twin in your videos, almost steal the show! Great pups. Love it.
Omg, my Dane had the same type of cameo in a video my husband was doing for his business after a few shipments had to come to our home while the storefront was closed. There is something especially hilarious and goofy when a dog is giant! Oh.....loved the rest of the video too. 😋
I love the purple hyacinth bean along with the Peachy Keen Superbena and 'Splash' licorice vine. I can't wait to see that window box fill in, it will be striking! Love your dogs, they have the sweetest temperament. I think Oden has a cousin living somewhere close to my house because he's visited me twice in the past week. He's an incredibly sweet dog and so darn friendly! ~Margie
I have a huge vintage cast iron cauldron that I plant every year. This year is orange canna and orange and yellow gazania. Both new to me. I’m loving it!
Love those colors and combinations. My window boxes are horrible this year. I’m just about ready to tear it all out and start over 😡 it’s a terrible challenge for me and I don’t know why. Hopefully I can gather some more ideas from here. I love the tall vines! Wonderful idea. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
Lisa Walters It can be really frustrating when containers don’t come together the way you envision them. Is it just that the plants haven’t grown much yet or do you think that it’s not going to get better? Personally when a container has gone wrong for me it’s usually one of two things: too many plants fighting with each other or an issue with the texture and sometimes they are one in the same. Bold texture contrasting with fine texture almost never goes wrong.
@@TheImpatientGardener I do think it's both. Lady at the nursery talked me into using tall rosemary as the height instead of a small evergreen like I wanted. Put your chosen plants with it like you want, she said. 🤬 who is the bigger fool, me or her? ME! We are camping this weekend but come next week I'm tearing them out. I dont even like rosemary! 🤦♀️
I used the peachy keen verbena in my containers this year too! with prince tut papyrus and supertunia honey in turquoise ceramic containers. I love how tropical it all looks together!
lovely! and I wanted to thank you for speaking out on instagram recently and posting some awesome pages from black gardeners! I have followed each one of the ones you recommended.
It's lovely! Can't wait to see it filled in. I have a trio of terra cotta pots ranging is sizes grouped at the start of my walkway with a double Shepard's hook in the center with hanging baskets, all have periwinkle bright eyes, yellow stonecrop sedum that cascades and the largest pot also has a white ruffled clematis and red cypress vine that climbs the Shepard's hook, with a few zinnas in the center. I've repeated some of the same flowers in large pots that flank the steps at the other end. On my porch (which is mostly shade) I have hostas with impatiens and ferns.
I love shade containers - hosta, fern (either tassel or autumn), variegated Swedish ivy, huchera for color maybe. I guess I like a lot of green and texture mostly! Looking forward to seeing your window box as it fills in and the climbing vine especially.
My window boxes in San Antonio, Texas have white and purple petunias across the back, asparagus fern in the center, and purple sweet potato vine spilling over the front. I love window boxes too!
We love all your plants, but we have to admit, you furball stole the show!!! ❤️ Beautiful plants, I don't think these are available in Greece, but I'll keep an eye out for those!! I can only garden in containers, so thank you for the inspiration. I'm working on my "gradient/ombre" jungle, so I have dozens of containers with various plants (climbers, shrubs, bulbs, seeds and just a few annuals) of similar colours, and I think (and hoping) it'll be the first year it'll actually show!! I was also hoping I'd film everything for my channel, but technology totally let me down, so I'll at least try to have some tours... Have a wonderful day!! ☺️
I have a railing planter with 3 deep coral almost orange double begonias with two white superbells with yellow throats in front of the gaps of the 3 begonias with a dark purple leaf sweet potato vine between the petunias. I'm loving it this year.
I love your window box and choice of plants. So pretty together. I too 💕 containers...have way too many. We are on town water so a drip system would cost a fortune. I have lots of rain barrels. One of my favourite and you are right doesn’t look like much at first planting is a 3 tier combination I do for a shade area. I pile 3 pots kind of inside one another only planting in the outer rim, hard to explain. I usually use inpatients 2 different colours in the bottom 2 tiers then the top coleus, but the magic happens mid summer as they grow and bush out...looks like one big ball of flowers, you can’t see the containers. That is just one of my favs. Love your channel btw...you are down to earth girl!
I just planted light pink mandevillas, heliotrope, and blue skies supertunias in a whiskey barrel. I love mandevillas when they drape rather than climb so I’m excited to see how these all work together
I'm in zone 5 Iowa, and I totally feel like I'm behind on planting everything it's nice to see that you are still out there putting plants in. I hope you give us an update on your vegetable garden soon 🤗 also I purchase my very first hydrangea after watching several of your videos. I ended up purchasing little lime hydrangea from proven winners, Unfortunately a deer or rabbit has came and snipped off several tops on my hydrangea. Hoping that it perks backup I'm guessing I will not see much growth this year.
Hi Erin! I planted a 21” round container that has Truffula Pink Gomphrena in the middle, and supertunia limoncello and diamond frost euphorbia alternating around the perimeter. Nothing spectacular at the moment, but should be fun when it fills in!
This year I bought an aqua pot placed between my garage doors. I have planted a dark leaf elephant ear in center, with white supertunia mini vista , white mounding mandevilla, asparagus fern, white lantana, and white Thunbergia. Would love to add photo.
I’m pretty sure it’s dead and the more I think about it, the more I think it was dead when I repotted it. The good news is that dead boxwoods still look sort of ok for a bit so it’s still there waiting for a miracle.
This year the majority of my annuals are red. It is amazing the variety of textures that it is bringing to my pots and hanging baskets. I’m trying to phase my perennials that direction as well. I live on a wooded lot and love the pop of color it gives. I’ve thrown in some occasional gold as an accent and, of course, for the ISU Cyclones! Go state!
It looks great😁 wish I had window boxes 😉 actually my pansies are still looking great, don't hsve the heart to rip them out and switch over for summer🤣 hope there are some nice plants left when it comes time 😉
Great plants and video! The only place I could find Peachy Keen this year was in hanging baskets mixed with supertunia honey. I had to deconstruct the pots to get them out to put them in the beds. It was harder than I thought it would be 🤣
I too really struggled to find the annuals and perennials I was looking for this year. Luckily I propagated a bunch of lemon corral Sedum over winter and have those in containers and all over in the landscape this year.
Love the colors! I like doing containers especially supertunias bubblegum black cherry velvet purple and other PW annuals to long to name them all and the new supertunia white snow drift!
Love this combo (and love your Newfies - big fluff balls 🥰). Why no window box on the other lower window? I have 2 hay rack window boxes. Since they are mostly in shade I used a begonia with double flowers in coral, a white single flower begonia, a white impatient, coleus, sweet potato vine and a variegated ivy on either end. The ivy and impatient have green leaves, coleus has green with purple veining and the rest have purple/bronze foliage. So far I like the combo.
Two issues with a window box on the other window: 1. That window is much lower than the window where I have the window box, so I'm not sure how that would look. 2. The bigger issue is that our cellar doors are right there and when opened they reach to right underneath the window so there's probably no room for another window box. I'd love to have more though!
Hello, Love your dogs! They're obviously well trained. I'm new to gardening. I have petunias and creeping Jenny in my containers. I had dracena spikes in but took out since they're toxic to pets. Karla
I so loved your conversation with your pup:first a kiss to mom, then does what mom requests and lyes down I so love your presentation of plants and everything. Love your window box planter I may have missed- did your husband build it.? Or where did you obtain this planter, thank you for your vidios and everything
Omg! Your dog is adorable! The window box is pretty, now. The colors are beautiful! Hey, how are the roses doing that you put in the containers? Just curious... thanks for posting. I never miss when you get your fingers dirty, girl!
Purple Hyacinth Bean is one of my absolute favorites 💜 I was introduced to it by my Godmother Aunt Betty a number of years ago and have planted it every year since. She has since passed away from breast cancer so now I grow it and share seeds every year in honor of her. 💜
It's interesting how plants remind you of people. My aunt and uncle gave me a stonecrop plant 10 years ago. Still going strong They both passed away since then.
@@tvcat3665 It really is. I grow things every year that remind me of my grandparents. I also love how the smell of certain plants to this too. Grandpa definitely smelled of tomato leaves and grandma of marigolds! 🍅🏵🍅🏵🍅
