Following tactical for years now and I must say, Matt and Tim are as real as it gets! It never gets old it never gets dull and it’s the way 99% of us anglers fish. Budget-high end. They cover it all! Absolutely love these dudes. The awesome thing to... you can convert almost all these techniques to Largys right over to smallys and vice versa. Everything they preach works great if you apply it correctly. Never fished a LV until last year, finally tied one on and smallys knocked the paint off that thing, Bent every hook. It is now retired! All with in 2 weeks.
Always used Blade Baits on Clark Hill in cold water. Will now be expanding into fall and late spring thanks to this vid. Best U-tube channel on fishing there is!!!! I watched the vid where you lost the audio. You edited up it in the corner, with info. I actually liked it! We got a little more detail on conditions, retrieve, water depth, etc.
Picked up a hog on a chatterbait. Switched up to a lipless and fished the area. Proceeded to drop the hammer in a school for the next hour. What a way to start the season! 🔥
Just got 2nd place in 2 different yak tournaments, with the second tourney had me pulling the big fish, and they were all caught on various lipless cranks. Thanks guys, this won me over 200 dollars
Say guys, thanks for all the info. I”ve been following u guys for about two years and you have made me a much better fishermen. I have been catching hundreds of fish and the biggest ever, thank you.
you should make a separate playlist called “The Rabbit Hole” for folks like me who love the madness. the way matt and tim break down fishing makes it seem like the other pros just chat foolishness
Hey Matt I live here on clearlake, Ive met you and Tim around lake county a few times and Ive learned most of what I know Just from watching and learning from y'all. I fish off of my dock here on clearlake and I caught a 35 pound limit in 2 hours with an lv 500 a couple days ago. It was the best day of fishing I've ever had In my life.Thank you so much for all the information and everything. My PB was included in that 35 pound bag, 9.3 is my new Pb thanks to yall! Now I just gotta get one of those clearlake double digits!
NEW PB. 11.4 pounds. Matt thank you for the video Wednesday. I fish a high pressured local lake where everyone has been throwing a lipless lately. Because of the video Wednesday for the last 2 days I have been smashing fish hopping a blade bait. Yesterday afternoon the big girl smashed my blade bait I owe it all to tactical bassin. I would not have been throwing a blade bait if I had not watched the video and realized that I needed to be doing something different than everyone else.
I cashed a check in my first tournament ever on Sam Rayburn throwing a red Damiki vault and ripping it out of the grass. You guys have been talking about ripping baits out of grass for a long time and when nothing else worked I remembered that. Thanks for the great videos and keep it up.
I use a 7’2 MH moderate zodias and 15lb fluoro so I can get some versatility out of my rod. I throw lipless baits chatterbaits and spinner baits all on the same combo. I absolutely love it. Up here in New Hampshire a lot of places have so much grass having that medium heavy really help rips those baits out and the moderate gives that fish a chance to catch up to the bait as it pops out of cover. Great video guys!
He's right. I was fishing a 1/2oz Lipless on a 7' Med mod/mod-fast cranking Rod. Landed a 4.8 lbs that was hooked on the outside of mouth with one hook point not even passed the bard. Fish stayed pinned through the whole fight. I grabbed the fish and the lure just fell off into the water. Super soft rods are a must
I use the vault, but I actually throw them like a lipless, and just crank them a lot of the time. They get CRUSHED. Love those baits. Going to try it this way now. But I love that vault.
Another great video .....thank you guys for all you do for the fishing community....quick question. Does it matter if its sand or rock bottom when bouncing off bottom? Sorry if its a stupid question but I am fairly new to the sport....anyone's advice is appreciated.
that was one of the most in depth helpful videos I've ever seen. I saw the last one and I live near Lake Fork in Texas and I think it will definately give me an edgge that most anglers are not using. You're a true professional Matt and thanks for spending the time to really explain things. Can't wait for the chance to really get out there and use these techniques. We are well into the spawn now and much of this I will prepare to use next season but I did well this year and I'm gonna kill'em next year even better. Thanks
Great video Matt, as usual. I just picked up some SK Red Eye Shad lipless cranks on sale at BPS. Now I need a rod/reel combo to use. Thanks for the suggestions, and tips. Information for all in the video. 🎣👍
Lol guys caught my pb white bass and pb green sunfish on lipless cranks... the white bass was around 4 Ibs... bottom hoppin for nearly state records... it really, really works
You really can't understate how important the right rod is for these and for any kind of crankbait. I know lots of it is because guys want super fancy high mod graphite, but I will always throw crankbaits on glass rods. It just makes them more enjoyable to fish, even the parts that don't involve catching fish.
I definitely have to start learning to adapt more and throw new baits. Is there you can teach us about moon phases and how the different phases can affect fishing? I know you've talked about this in the past a bit
Have you guys tried the suspending lipless baits from 6th sense yet? Would like to know what you think. I haven't watched yet if you talk about them because I'm at work
I haven't been gettin bit on a damiki vault but been smashing on an Casey's classic underspin, smacked a 5.14 kicker today and some nice 3 pounders. You want an awesome rod for a lipless on a budget, go to academy and get the Diawa Laguna medium heavy for 29.99 amazing rod for the price nice soft tip and it keeps em pinned
Cool to see a couple yozuris in the box.. I really like the 3/8th size up north here.. in RED!! Lol trout smoke em as well.. outfish the guys trout fishing on accident.
I can’t get over the rattle in some. I throw one that vibrates so hard I can hear it above water like 20 yards away. And I can feel the vibration in my kayak when it’s coming up to me. I agree with you. It doesn’t seem logical till it works. But it hasn’t worked for me yet. Only a catfish bite on it.
I wish you had more opinions about 6th Sense baits. The just came out with a “suspending” Lipless. They have quite a variety of lipless cranks, different sizes, and sounds (Ex. THUD) In the last couple years I’ve found 6th Sense are the best hard baits...or at least what I’M most confident throwing. Surprised you don’t use/talk about 6th sense at all..
Hey Matt, I've been watching you for 5 or 6 years now and I've learned a ton. much appreciated!! I was wondering if you ever got you hands on a imx pro 855c cbr? if so how would you compare to your favorite 845c cbr?
Is there a video where you explain have to identify the different positions the Bass might be in? Example; you said "if the males are in the shallow flats the females might be in the first secondary point." Thanks and your video are super helpful to a new fisherman. Caught my first Bass yesterday!
Have you or Tim tried the rapala rap v and if you have what situations would you use them for jigging or retrieving or both? Love the channel and keep up the great work!!!
Hi Matt, thank you for another great video. I'd really like to try dragging the LV500 but where we fish in Wisconsin has pike & musky. I'm concerned about losing a somewhat expensive bait. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions for pike waters? I'm not as concerned with baits that they are chasing but last year I had several bite offs when using a fluke. I have heard of people using a 20 lb titanium leader but that would be way more visible than fluro. Thanks!
Assuming you use sonar to locate structure to throw them on. As a bank fisherman / low income, I always feel like i'm going to hang up on bottom not knowing what's down there. It definitely prevents me from doing so as often and in turn not catching as many fish. Any tips to build confidence without losing a ton of gear?
I love Cotton Cordell.. never understood how they're so over looked. It's like if they don't say $6 or more people think they won't catch'em!!! Lol.. 😂😂🎣💪
@@smoovefishing Agreed. There's nothing worse that having to spend time changing out Hardware. I mean if you need something to do in the wintertime- then go for it.. I don't mind spending a little more to get decent hardware that i dont have to change. I bleed too easy.
I see you switching lures all the time as you fish, but I can't afford 15 rods each tied with a lure already set up. If I were to have 1 or 2 rods and want to swap baits I either need to re-tie all tie time, or use a snap. Does a snap deter bites?
took this lesson to my lake and caught a lot of fish including a 10.80 this works only bad thing is that you lose a lot of baits even with a lure retrever
Funny. I literally just lost a ~4lb smallie on a lipless. Using a 7'4 MHMF - st. croix, cordell spot in royal red, new owner hooks. 95%+ of the time I land that fish. Woulda been the first "biggun" of the year. I almost cried. Actually I may have shed a tear.
The Lv300 n is exactly the same as the lv500, just has a much more subtle sound profile... I’ll have to try it and see how the variation effects fishing. Also guys, this sounds stupid but honestly the Walmart brand $2 lipless cranks are kinda nuts... soooo high pitched it’s ridiculous, even a ratltrap or spot can’t compare...
