I first saw SRK in a item song called 'Kaal Dhamaal'. After watching that song I realized why everybody calls him the king of bollywood. This guy can play any type of role/character in films.
This movie was so iconic in 2000 because of casting and the storyline. SRK and Aishwarya played siblings (as you mentioned in your reaction), which was very unique and challenging those days for the male and female superstars to play siblings. Also, the character of SRK in the film was so unique i.e., his behaviour, his uncultured language & accent, and so on! 🙂
The actress in the film who slap Shahrukh Khan is Priya Gill. Priya participated at Miss India 1995 Contest. The very next year after Aishwarya and Sushmita in 1994. Priya finished in top 5 and later chosen to represent India at Miss International 1995 in Japan. Priya also acted in the film Sirf Tum. The song Dilbaar which you already reacted starring Sushmita Sen. Is from the film Sirf Tim
I'm pretty sure the laila majnoon story has been renowned in the middle east and indian Subcontinent, and has been around for far longer then Romeo and Juliet.
