  • DJI Mic vs Hollyland Lark Max - Which is the best wireless microphone?
    Let's compare the DJI Mic vs Hollyland Lark Max to figure out if the Hollyland Lark Max is a better wireless microphone system than DJI Mic?
    DJI Mic has my go-to wireless microphone system for about 1 year. Now I'm trying to find a better system and first out is to check if Hollyland Lark Max can match and even beat the king of wireless microphone systems, the DJI Mic, and possibly even be the best wireless microphone! I will also try the Hollyland lavalier microphone.
    Hollyland Lark Max has some unique features like a built-in noise canceling feature called (ENC) that filters unwanted noise from the recording.
    Both the Hollyland Lark Max and DJI Mic have touch screens, but the big difference is that the touch screen of the Hollyland Lark Max is activated first after the menu- or shortcut button is pressed! This prevents the touch screen from messing up settings etc just by touching it accidently.
    Let's join me in this DJI Mic vs Hollyland Lark Max comparison video!

    I just purchased the DJI mic (1). The reason I like it over the hollyland is the connectivity to my iPhone. No cables. (holly land has nowhere to store them) . Has adapter that is clipped onto base of RX and can stay on when I put it in its charge case.

    At 15:15 you mention a necklace that comes with the Hollyland where you can stick the transmitter to...however...I don't see that on their website as an included accessory. Where can I get that? Thanks.

      This is a sometimes included accessory, for example Amazon is offering this and the lav mic included free right now (10/23). Mine didn't include anything when I got it.

    What's the best way to noise cancel on a dji mic,

    • @MK-Creator
      @MK-Creator  9 місяців тому +2

      1. Remove the notice before you are recording. 😁
      2. In your editing software. I use FCPX and there are many different solutions. If someone is talking the voice isolation feature can work well. Otherwise there are plugins that can do a fairly good job. For example Crumplepop

    Dji mic all day long ... I don't like having cables with me .. I prefer the little adapters ... you can also lock the screen up on the DJI one but you never mentioned this ..

    • @MK-Creator
      @MK-Creator  9 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Yes you can lock the screen. But it doesn’t lock automatically and you don’t really have that as a habit to manually lock it every time, or at least I don’t.
      As I said, I’ve been using the DJI mic more or less every day for over a year so I know my way around with it and the issues I’m actually facing every day. :)
      I don’t say that people need to agree with me, instead I want to share my personal experience.
      I have a full beginners guide for the DJI mic also, so I could not cover every feature in this video.
      Thanks again!

    ExceptvDJI Mic 2 is nearly out. Preview is the single unit on DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Hint: DJI is always ready with the "next, better thing". I suspect a rematch is coming. Hint 2: DJI plays second to no one. I am the furthest thing from a DJI Fanboy, and have tried EVERY SINGLE competitors product BEFORE making decisions. Guess who ends up with my money, time and again? Oh... did you say 30 minute files before splitting? The Mic 2 is 14 -17 HOURS.

    I've never used the DJI mic system so I can't comment on that, but the Hollyland Lark Max mic I have used, and they are unusable for professional use. The one thing you haven't tested is the same one thing that no UA-camr has tested, and that's the latency. It's the number 1 thing to test, yet you didn't test it, and neither does anyone else. And that's probably because you're a UA-camr and not a professional. A UA-camr just sticks a mic on, starts talking, then listens back afterwards to see if the recoding was ok, which it would be, so you say the mic is great. That's not how professionals work, and it's not how your audience work. We aren't UA-cam bloggers. We film other people, not ourselves (for the most part).
    When you are filming someone else the most important thing you need to do is....... ? MONITOR THE AUDIO!!! You have to check the audio to make sure the sound of the environment you're recording in sound nice, and while you're recording you have to constantly monitor the audio to make sure it doesn't drop out or that the talent doesn't have hair or clothes rubbing on the mic. It's literally the most important part of the shoot. Have you tried to monitor audio using the Lark Max? No. How do I know you haven't? Because if you did you'd be chucking them in the bin.
    The latency of the Lark Max is SO bad that you cant use them for audio monitoring because the delay caused by the slow latency creates an echo in the earphones vs your ears. If you can't live monitor the audio properly, the system is 100% useless for pro use. The only thing the Lark Max are good for is people who record themselves without monitoring, and the only people who do that are bloggers.

      You my good sir are exactly what every person looking for a real honest non-biased review needs. For someone like me who knows nothing about these mics and looking to buy one, I’ve been scouring every UA-cam review out there and you are right in that not a single content creator has mentioned anything at all about latency and audio monitoring. In fact, with that little bit of information right there you yourself can change the name of the game. You should definitely make your own comparison videos with this kind of vital information to teach people exactly what to look for in the products they are researching for potential buyer opportunities. You’ve helped me a ton and I want you to know that I appreciate you. Have a wonderful day! 😁

      Relax already. Curtis Judd measured latency in his review. Also, these are marketed as consumer level devices, not pro. Your criticism is, therefore, refuted. Move on already.

    • @MK-Creator
      @MK-Creator  7 місяців тому +4

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
      But most likely it in fact doesn’t matter that much, at all… if you are not intending to for example combine wired mic’s with wireless ones. Considering the way the targeted audience is using this microphones the latency have very little or no impact at all.
      When I work on movie sets we never use this 2.4 ghz non licensed mic’s at all.
      We need to keep professional grade wireless microphones apart from the consumer / prosumer grade microphone that this products are aimed towards.
      Thanks again for sharing your thought tho. I do appreciate it.

    • @ChrisRigbyFilm
      @ChrisRigbyFilm 7 місяців тому +1

      While it’s true their are different levels of wireless mic, I don’t accept that it’s ok for the lower end of the market to have really bad latency. It’s simply not ok. Rode don’t have it for example. So, these products are bad. They can’t be used as intended, and the UA-cam community of reviewers have either missed this, or excluded this info on purpose in order to keep their reviews positive. Either way all the reviews on these Larks, including yours, are misleading and not at all helpful as reviews. I bought a set of these based on reviews. Waist of money- get the Rode GO or Wireless pro because they have no latency issues.

      @EnglishwithLiz 7 місяців тому +3

      @@ChrisRigbyFilm The latency tested at .033 seconds which is not perfect, but not a major problem. Hollyland have confirmed that a coming firmware release will address this. We shall see.

    Hablas de cosas que ya explican los demás, muchos más antes que tú, pero obvias algo tan importante como la distancia de alcance.
    Y lo obvias porque no sabes que estos micrófonos, los DJI o los Hollyland, así como otros tantos del mismo estilo, pueden utilizar la entrada del micrófono externo a modo de entrada de línea.
    Por lo tanto, algo que ni tú sabes, es que estos micrófonos se pueden usar para enviar señal de audio para, por ejemplo, sacar sonido de una mesa de sonido hacia una cámara usando el receptor conectado a la cámara de vídeo.
    Por lo tanto, puedes usar estos micrófonos como transmisores de audio. Siendo muy importante la distancia real que puedan alcanzar. Tanto en un terreno libre de obstáculos como en uno completamente rodeado de obstáculos.
    Pero claro, tu eres otro más de miles de UA-camrs que hay en UA-cam a los que parece que la empresa les regala productos que ni ella misma quiere darle más funcionalidades aunque las tenga.
    Por qué?, pues porque ellos no las fabrican y solo son la marca que les ponen a los productos que compran a terceros que solo se limitan a fabricar cacharros sin ser una marca real.
