I love how Petey based his rationale regarding hate crime legislation on a fallacy of the American far right, instead of slamming the guy, then explaining that hate crime legislation is there to make sure racial motivation, when it can be proven, is included in the factors used to determine the offender's sentence, because some judges tend to... Forget that part, even though it's the difference between 3 years and 5 years. If you read this and went there, and you know damn well where 'there' is, congratulations, you just made the case for why we need it. But the way this show did it wasn't just a good subversion of expectations, it showed that Petey is fallible to those types of bullshit arguments, and that it can shape his opinion enough to ignore the facts when he does.
