Bullet for my valentine are amazing regardless of Matt not screaming in every performance. It's hard to scream, I mean I have tried and I bloody suck. But If Matt screamed in each song live, his vocals would be hurting straight after. You can't expect a singer to do that all the time and then lose their voice so they can't perform another day. It's hard for them and I appreciate that they actually still scream in some performances. Alistair Lisle Google this, "laryngitis". He had that shit and he had throat surgery. He had to learn how to SPEAK again from scratch, then learn how to sing, so do you understand why it's not as simple as just to "learn how to scream properly" for him?
If he's learned how to speak and sing again, by that logic surely he could learn how to scream again? If you learn how to scream properly it shouldn't damage your throat in any way, so your point is pretty irrelevant.

The surgery changed his voice since they removed bits of his throat, that's why even his clean singing doesn't sound the same now as it did on The Poison and screaming became much harder for his voice. Well.. That and the fact that he's gone from 25 to 35. He knows how to scream properly but he doesn't want to put any unnecessary strain on his vocal chords. After the surgery screaming became much more demanding of him and his voice, even when doing it correctly. He's even taken lessons from the same vocal coach that all the big metal dudes turn to. She worked with Randy Blythe and Phil Labonte among others :) It's really miles away from "just learn how to scream properly" for him, that's why Jay did the majority of the scream live, but in the studio, all the screaming is still made by Matt!

Definitely a better singer now if we speak technically. like no questions asked but he still lost his old screams high pitch. But still is not much different then the one he had before , now he seems to want to use it less to not strain himself. İ would say that by using more of a pop accent in his technique he sounds better now in my opinion.

Their bass player lost his screaming ability. At first he was decent at it but now he just sounds like a dying cat. I think he should let matt just do the screams from now on.
I prefer music over "energy". Personally when I go to the concert I want to hear high quality live performance, not to see a fucking "show" or band being badass on a stage but there was time when I was a kid as well and wanted to express my energy somehow.
