It is rather remarkable to just walk around picking fruit. They have them in towns too, you can just pick fruit as you shop! In Cornwall we build a timber frame inside these houses and insulate between the timber after stabilising the walls. Thanks Deborah for your comment 😊

The best part of our beautiful Ocean Planet is the Ocean and the Coast, a good sail boat or Ship is the best place to live, the interior is interesting to view it by drone, or hot air balloon. The Landmass may soon become a desert again, with little water. Or the conflict in Ukraine leading to WW3. # HeroesAtSea.

I'm totally with you on the ideal of no machinery and if you have sent as much time as me clearing land you'd probably choose this option too. We hope that our food forest will be self managing and not require strimming and care for itself naturally, that's the ideal Sean. The idea of sheep has been discussed but think we will probably move towards a more plant based diet and less meat. I would struggle killing sheep, pigs, goats, I've just got my head around chicken slaughter. Thanks for commenting amigo ❤️💚💛
Portugal is becoming quite hot, donkeys are useful for eating grass even gorse if it grows there. They can also be used to plough, and carry material. the manure is also ok. Pigs are useful as a natural rotavator, they clear the land well. Enjoy our beautiful Ocean Planet

Yeah property is very affordable but restoring an old building is always a challenge better of building from scratch with strong foundation higher than land level to avoid damp, flooding...
Yes I agree...flooding in that place doesn't seem to be a problem the other problems are real in a old house built without any kind of isolation.... damp and humidity... and the house it's a wreck the location of that piece of flat land with a road in the middle it's great thought....
I've worked on old houses my entire life so know how to make it dry, warm, efficient, it's been my life's work and to keep some charm and not revert to a concrete shelter is more appealing for me,.but each to their own. Still a lotta house for not a lot of money 👌

I am going threw this video figuring out what it would take to renovate this property. A tractor to mow out the land next to the houses and across the street. Trimming the trees is necessary. I'm wondering if a farmer in the area might consider a trade of services for harvesting the fruit. The outside of the house needs masonry work done and sealed unless there is a different method out there. I would imagine that there might be a certain amount of government approvals (permits) to make repairs or modifications. The railing needs to be sandblasted / painted or replaced. Going up the stairs show more masonry work needed. up the stairs, it looks as if the entire home(s) will need to be rewired for electricity. If one were to break down parts of the walls, I can see making the place on large home. The kitchen will nee to be updated. inside the house (ceilings and walls) will need to be repaired and painted. The entire place is going to need new flooring (maybe wooden floors or tile). It's going to need a new roof and rafting repair. The driveway needs some sort of covering. Maybe concrete or cobbled stone. I would knock down some walls to make the bedrooms larger. The place(s) needs air-conditioning / heating installed. There looks like the foundation needs to be repaired. I see some seriously cracked walls. It looks as if it's going to require at least €65,000. or much more.
all these small rural houses are usually from late 1880s to early 1930s, there was a huge demographic boom back them families had 7-10 children and they build them all over the country side without any urban planning.
Another great tour of a property but with the amount of work and cost to renovate would be better to demolish and rebuild using some of the demo,surrounding area looks quite nice land is ok too.
I am personally averse to concrete carbuncles with infilled tejeilo brick, but that's just me Rob. I'm also for restoration wherever possible. I really liked this house and it would be a lot of work but what a house it will be when done.

It's difficult to answer this question to be honest, that would depend on many things including the finish and the unknowns. I can't make an assessment on the cost of works without spending more time there and costing materials which change like the wind at the moment. Sorry I can't be more specific.

I read that people bought their dream houses cheaply in Spain, just to later find out that their dear houses were occupied by local people without being able to remove them. The legal protection is very weak for foreigners, especially if you are not intending to live there permanently.
Not so true in Portugal, we are confident the estate agents and lawyer we recommend will leave you in safe hands. It's all about due diligence and making sure you cross the T's and dot the I's

Not so true in Portugal, we are confident the estate agents and lawyer we recommend will leave you in safe hands.
