I can't front. As a native New Yorker who's era was the 5 Percenters, Zulu Nation, Decepticons, Lo-Lifes, Supreme Team, A-Team (Allah Team), etc., outside of the Rollin 60's, Rollin O's and Neighborhood Car, I always fascinated by the Hoovers and Hoover history. This podcast is dope and informative. Salute to Under Tha Groove, Tony Stacy and Big Mizz.
It’s funny cuz all the people outside of NY think that all that gang stuff like Blood, Crips, Latin Kings, GDs, etc is new to NY cuz if the music. Not knowing that we had gangs like Zulu Nation, 5 Percenters, Decepts, Lo-Livesm Supreme Team, Savage Skulls, Savage Nomads, Rat Hunters, Black Spades, etc. it was on some gang shit like the movie Warriors when they used to wear they own cuts/vests.

IBig Bubb, I know I haven't been in your Comments bro, Nothing personal just haven't had the time to Share my thoughts. However I find that you're making good with the Podcast, and you Should Continue to open the door to a peaceful and solid environment. I Know you may get the negative from many, but to keep your push forward f,ormal , and always respectful. You knew the job was hard When you took it. I'm sure you'll Stand Soldier. In it.Much love & respect. 4*** times as Hard .
@neilhilliard9627, I appreciate the time you took to jump in. It's always better late than never. This groove I'm on and hope to bring others into is definitely hard and complicated. And discouraging at times. I liken it to doing a life sentence where when you first start to do that time, you have the support from those you love and love you, they got your back. But then, over time, that support begins to dwindle and then evaporates. You come to realize you're on an island. All sorts of thoughts go your mind. The realization becomes, ok, I got myself into this, so I got to handle it. That still does not change the fact that support from those you love would make all the difference in the world. In fact, who wouldn't want the support of their people, no matter how easy or hard the endeavor is? The hardships of this thing are no doubt character and resolve builders. Both great traits. Though the beauty of this, what really would make it worthwhile, is the support. One of our main issues is that we do not support each other. Especially when it's right and / or positive. Hard as it is, there's no turning back, bro. 1/L.
I was at Manchester Park as a 7 or 8 year old in 1963 pryor to the Watts riots There were old Italian men playing on bocce courts I'm sure they were Mafia connected but the Slausons ran things . They wore black Levi's with orange tee shirts way before Hoover was invented. I can remember like it was yesterday. Stingy brim hats . I thought teenager Arthur Mingo was the coolest dude I ever saw as a kid.other than my uncles that claimed Slauson. The Manchester movie theater was our stomping grounds. Halloween carnival was awesome at the park .Italian business all up and down Figueroa street .Fremont high school was Slauson headquarters
