    My guess about the concrete structure on the west side of said HangarX is for DoD, NSA or other SpaceX payloads and/or parts of satellites that require secure compartmentalized "clean room" testing/holding area before integration onto the Falcon rocket. When it gets closer to completion your going to see some "fancy" air-conditioning/air filtering equipment on the roof.

    • @gregggrina3240
      @gregggrina3240 3 місяці тому

      If you look at SLC40 with google maps, there's an addition added to the processing hangar for falcon 9. It was built with twin overhead doors for classified payload handling. The much taller addition added to the Falcon9 hangar is for fairing integration of the classified payloads and has separate air conditioning unites for the addition use only. The AC unites are on the side of the addition. The new concrete bunker type structure on Roberts Rd. is much smaller and has large twin doors accessible only from the inside of the SpaceX facility. It isn't for fairing integration but rather to hold and tests something. The concrete structure has twin rooms with a separate room running the entire length between the two rooms. This maybe a control room. This all concrete structure could not be for dangerous goods because it has no outside access for delivery and handling of DG. The building looks like something for Federal Government payloads. It maybe a holding/testing facility for something they want SpaceX to launch. Possible some kind of new tech that will be launching on falcon rockets from 39A or SLC40. There is rectangular venting holes for connecting AC venting that were formed when the structure was poured/cast. Also, emergency exit door openings are on both sides of the clean rooms. @@TheEvilmooseofdoom

    Nobody has even seen the level of production SpaceX is capable of. They haven't moved in to their new factory. When they get it up to full production they will be producing at least one full ship a day, maybe more. The thing to remember is that all Starships are prototypes because the design hasn't been finalized yet and there will be many changes to make before flight. Some of these changes may be considered extreme. Nobody's crystal ball is capable of seeing that far.

      I hope you are right, but I have yet to see a compelling business case that says that the subscription fees of the number of subscribers that startlink can actually support will be enough to cover the cost of operating Starllink. In addition to the usual costs, an analysis should include how starling is going to avoid being shut down or jammed by countries like Russia, China, and North Korea.

    To all the great employees at SpaceX I believe all you guy’s are great.
    Elon Musk is the problem. I’ve seen this in other newly made billionaires. He did make a lot of money. But money as in with other billionaires get the idea that they are the smartest person walking the earth.
    Sadly this is false. He has built so many more boosters that will all fall. The amount of thrust they are trying to harness will work. But it will never happen with 33 engines. Starship can be fixed with a taller hot stage ring with full 38 degree cone to vent hot thrust out of the ring. With out this it is being directed back into the rocket nozzles. This melts the o-rings around the nozzle. This leads to another adverse disassembly.
    Booster just needs 9 engines and 4 gimbal engines with the same thrust as the 33 engines produce.
    If they can’t lose the 304 stainless for titanium. Then they should just give up on trying to manufacture a reusable rocket that will go to the moon. A aluminum rocket would carry starship to 335 miles above the earth. Starship would need no extra fuel. What do you know extra as it would use none reaching this altitude. Then use three Pam rockets to decouple. Then starship rockets would only be used to land on the moon and liftoff. As to the booster you can’t let it burn up on re-entry. Since Elon was wise enough to create engine mass production. The booster loss cost would be minimal. The moon has helium 3 which needs desperately. Mars will serve nothing to return to mars. We did leave anything on mars. So there is no reason to even attempt to build a colony there. We need another 2 to 3 hundred years until we can build vehicles similar to the aliens playing with us since 1901.

      Talk about delusions of grandeur. If Musk was going to wash his car, you would not be qualified to critique it. If he were making a PBJ for lunch, or baking a cake, or welding a pipe, you should just stand and watch. You are way, way out of your league. A gnat trying to tell the bull where next to step.
