Many thanks, Randy. Although sometimes announced as 'One More Thing', the correct title is indeed 'Tellin' You 'Bout It'. It was composed and recorded by Bo Carter in 1931. As you can hear, it's a simple 12-bar blues in E flat but with the interesting feature that an instrumental 'break' is taken on bars 7 and 8, even during the vocal (e.g. at 00:49 and at 01:05 and 01:21 and 02:25). You can hear the original Bo Carter recording at: ua-cam.com/video/E18Xo-mK2KE/v-deo.html
It may be "only a very simple 12 - bar blues with an amusing break" Pops, but in these hands it becomes a powerful, musical statement; to wit - 'love this music and dance with us, life is good !' Irresistible - what with Shaye's stellar cornet, surrounded by Barnabus .. and James Evans .. with that rolling rhythm section .... on a sunny New Orleans street-corner, does it get any better ?! (and and two washboards .....)
Just can’t get enough of Tuba Skinny! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
They just keep getting better. Shaye has such a lovely tone and makes it look easy
Thank you, Randy, for being Tubas Skinny’s videographer, so the rest of us can see a great Dixieland band!
Excelente tema interpretado pelos TS. Obrigado Raul por lá estar e divulgar.
I like it! And it is good to see Erika is still in town. This year she seems to be staying longer after the festivals in April.
James Evans sitting in on clarinet & sounding great!
Another great tune from TS, and how cool of them to let the lady guest on washboard. I bet that really made her day
How they treated the lady from Coney Island sums up Tuba Skinny, they are REAL people, not just great musicians
Yep .... really good people
If I could play, I would be honored just to have the chance.
