My favorite Then, My favorite during, and my favorite to this day. It's a great story and I am proud of her and for her. I'm not casting the first stone
She is 5 months older than me, I started liking tennis at the same time she was coming up, when I was 13 years old, and to me she was it. Then she struggled, but I never gave up, always hoping for a comeback .... my life mirrors her to a point, I finished medical school at just 22, a Doogie Howser, but then it when off the rails for years, did not get into residency till 14 years later, when I thought I was done. One of the things that help me believe I still could complete my training and become a practicing physician was seeing her lift that trophy in Australia. She is an inspiration to me and really hope that she finds the peace and respect that she deserves from all of us
Capriati was definitely doing more than just marijuana in that hotel room lol! Don’t sugarcoat it. But it doesn’t indict her, it humanizes her for all of the bad she was carrying as a stressed out teen who couldn’t handle the spotlight then.
