I don't know if you play the Hard Mode battles, but I'm gonna give a spoiler warning for anyone else who hasn't played it.
Lesson 48 Hard Mode spoilers ahead:
So, turns out Barbatos's illness was caused by Solomon's cooking.
Asmo managed to convince him to stop cooking after telling him it was bad in the hard mode lesson after the food poisoning incident, but then Simeon encouraged him to keep cooking and tried to teach him. It did not work out. 😂
