  • This vlog was a little short there was not much more to see or add, I am just still adjusting to my new job trying to improve since the previous week, start MCAT prep, and get ready for post bacc classes.     Question! That information you gave about the birth mark did you just read the doctors notes to the patient or how did you give that info?? Starting MA school in a week can’t wait!!

      Hi good question! They are called “path results” so the providers (PA/doctor) do a biopsy (shave whatever it is that doesn’t look normal like a irregular mole) send it to the lab for it to get looked at, then they look for cancer like melanoma, squamous cell, or basal cell. The medical assistants get the results and we call the patients to let them know what it was. In this case it wasn’t cancer it was a birthmark, we write the results in the notes for the provider. However if it is a cancer the provider must deliver the news to the patient we just document it in the notes! I hope this was helpful and good luck with your journey!!!
