The ebird mobile app works brilliantly and has enhanced my birding greatly. Every bird you see and hear means something and as it encourages you to record everything you see and hear you focus more while out in the field and look more closely at what you see. So satisfying at the end of a session to review the trip and press submit! Editing is so easy as well. Essential for birders in my opinion.
Is it possible to add media like photos, videos, and recordings on the eBird app? I recorded a rare siding and got a decent photo, but it doesn’t seem possible to add the photo to my checklist
Should I count species I only hear as observations, as the narrator of this video does? I personally don't want to add birds I cannot see to my life list.
Merlin records audio and the bird noises recognized by the Sound ID software is identified for you. It also has a photo feature. If they ever combine Merlin and eBird into one app it would be heaven.
I've done Christmas Bird counts in Bay Area since 1958, when GGAS was on Bancroft Ave; but these new feeder watch recording requirements rule me out as counter. So Good Bye.

I don't have a modern cell phone that can use aps. Frustrating at times but much cheaper.
