Korea had won every World Championships (besides Silver in 2023) and the Olympics since 2017.
Since OH Sanguk 오상욱 and KIM Junho 김준호 both did not attend this nor the last competition, DO Gyeongdong and (reigning Universade Champion) PARK Sangwon had been brought in to fencing instead. Impressively defeating Hungary 45/44 at the Warsaw World Cup. Ha Hansol acts as anchor.
On the Right - Team USA
The reigning World Championships Bronze medalists from the 2024 Milan World Championships, Team USA have continued to perform well this season. Reigning Individual World Champion Eli DERSHWITZ continues to anchor. Colin HEATHCOCK has also continued to shine by winning a Grand Prix and the Individual Luxardo World Cup a day previously. Ex-NCAA Champion Filip DOLEGIEWICZ fills the final spot. Mitchell SARON - former Junior World Number 1 - who enjoys counter-parries and an animal based diet is the reserve. Andrew DODDO is not fencing despite currently ranking higher than both Saron and DOLEGIEWICZ.

the future for 🇰🇷 in the team competition is bright by having park sangwon and do gyeongdong; both were so on fire in the last two world cups! crazy how park sangwon could catch up to 11 points when korea was behind the opponent and do gyeongdong who turned the table for korea right before the matches ended
I thought the gold is doubtful in the Paris Olympics without kim junghwan and kim junho . But looking at the possibility of oh sanguk, do gyongdong, gu bongil and possibly park sangwon making to the Olympics, korea is once again a very strong contender.
Gu probably should be out of the top 3 once Oh returns.
Park should definitely be in the Paris Olympics!!
