Great vidéo Pierre! I remember seeing the CW311 in “Road and Track” or other car magazines. I was so excited when it appears the first time! Body design was inspired from the legendary C111. So many people wished to buy a C111...so my guess is why Mercedes-Benz at the time agreed to produce a special licence do this Gullwing model. You can still buy used one...very expensive and is it true that they weren’t reliable?

The rear-engined 130-150-170 series would probably qualify as rare birds also. Likewise the Wankel rotary powered W113, although it was only a prototype, not true "production". The Isdera Commendatore 112i powered by the M120 is my 90's dream car.

The only one I did not know about was the V12 Mercedes , now I have heard of the 770k grosser Mercedes of the 30s and I am wondering is the 770k and the W156 the same vehicle. There is another car by Mercedes you should have included and that was the 35 260d I don't remember if it went into serious production or if it was just a prototype. The funny thing was Auburn also tried to come out with a diesel powered car at the same time as Mercedes.

I've always wondered what would have happened if WW2 hadn't happened. Would BMW motorcycles been ten years ahead of what actually happened. There's an article from about 20 years ago about the V12, and from about that time another about the 600 coupe

In my humble opinion is mercedes in every opinion better than an audi exept one thing thats rust prevention.
