Wow I knew I wasn’t the only person who used the ball thing, I got bud in orbit when this game first got out and I got my height to a point of digit overflow and the planet was no longer rendered and all light slowly dimmed for hours of flying until I was rolling through the empty vacuum of space. Respect james - I wish i could take all the credit but FinnSpire did most of the routing, I only performed it and added my own optimisations Took me about 12hours to complete it first time, once finished i thought "I wonder how fast this could be done?"
I noticed while getting the orbit achievement that I wasn't losing altitude at all, then when I changed back to normal I immediately slowed down. I think they programmed it not have 'air resistance' like BUD normally does, meaning as soon as you get height you'll start 'falling' at a weird angle because of the gravity. Never considered launching with the ball in the first place though, dear god

I just use the ball as a boost start for the wings and I didn’t know that it was used for speedrun
